And she is not shopping at Kmart....a "Versace" sombrero?

Mama always said that she was the frugal one. LOL!

Well, maybe if you need nothing but a smile and a hat.

I have to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles so I will be gone all day...I'll read your answer when I return.

Helenjw? Who the hellare you?

(DMV was where I was prepared to go All Day Today too. Finally concluded that if I ever want to rent a car again I have no choice but to go to Rector St. Then I spent half the day ripping the house apart to find my old license, which I did finally *behind* the drawer of all drawers. But I don't remember this business about a passport AND a Social Security card! And The Kid is sleeping; something wrong there.)

It's too late because of HER, The Hussie. But not to worry! Nurse Ratchet said that by noon tomorrow they'll be well on their way to being gone. She made an emergency appointment for me tomorrow at 9 a.m., but she said not to eat or drink anything after midnight, which sounds odd, but I've learned to obey her after all these months.

Happy, Eve?

The last time I drove through New York City, I was alone with nothing but yellow taxis and a bus. The bus stopped..The driver got out and said to me, "You're not used to driving in the city, ARE YOU?" LOL! Next, I tried to find a "parking place" near Broadway so that my daughter could visit a college there...LOL again!!!

I understand why your drivers license was lost.

Hi cyn,
"where someone might understand that the lower you go the harder it is to dig out and that pain and fatigue aren't personal faults to ridicule?"

I haven't gone through your experiences, but I do know that people don't understand depression & fatigue and are very quick to criticize it. Even best friends. They assume you WANT to be in a pit and LIKE to talk about it, and ENJOY wallowing in self pity.

Nope, who could possible enjoy or desire any of that? How could they think that? (I'm not talking about anyone here).

Hang in there.

Depression is a terrible thing. Worse, is many agree with the ignorant and blame themselves for being weak or whatever.

Thanks.

"many agree with the ignorant and blame themselves for being weak or whatever. "

I had to convince myself that I didn't need other people's approval of how I felt, or what I went through. This was and is hard for me since it helps to have another person validate and say, "yes, that was terrible!"

Then I had to let others know I didn't need their approval. I did it in the nicest way possible, but people like to have others strive for their approval. I guess it makes them feel king or boss. This is also hard, very hard.

BTW, regarding bouncey kids, I like these 3 books, "How to Make Kids Mind without Losing Yours; Love Must be Tough, Raising a Strong-Willed Chile."

While you sit and read them, you'll find yourself saying, "yeah, that's exactly what's happening!"

You can draw a line in the sand and tell your kid, "You can come this far, and no more." That kid will then proceed to walk right up to that line and then gall you by dancing on it!

LOL!

Keep on keepin' on, girl!

I got the Strong-Willed Child's guy tape. But unlike his mother, I don't have a girdle with garters to wrap around him, never mind the energy! Especially the energy.

But always, just before I'm going to lock him out of the house forever, he does something to make me laugh. Take yesterday for example: The Kid comes out of his room with a glitter sticker on each nipple, and very large Pokeman cards stuck with blue tape on his penis and each butt cheek. "Look, I'm not naked!" I asked if he would pose for a picture, but he fled, with Charmander and Poliwhirl flapping behind him in close second.

No, I wanted to go legit and swap an out-of-state. Then it expired because it took me 9 months to go back downtown. In between I had to go answer a summons, which I did today and paid $85.00 for a summons to go to court that I allegedly ignored. I never got a summons, but I remember that cop very well.
I got an appeal form to send to Alabany. Grrr. And I finally got my license.

I have a perfect driving record, and on both sides of the road too. The city is cake because I know it. Highways squick me, tho', especially when it's raining.

Attempting to park in the city is extremely naiive unless you know the tricks!

Consult me next time.

An excellent example of "reality discipline" (by the same author)if I may say so myself.

ROFL in tears.

Thanks for the laugh!
