I know who you are talking about. Her name was Wanda Faye Tucker. She was convicted of capital murder after planting a pick ax in the chest of a Houston man. I a native Houstonian and at the time & read all the news stories. Wanda admitted to killing the man. Said she got off on a sexual high when she killed him. She got what she deserved. So shouldn't the punishment for men & women be equal. Or do you believe a woman shouldn't be executed for a capital crime..

On DNA testing, I agree, all the cases of capital punishment should be held until DNA testing proves guilt or innocence.

I wonder if in a backlash responce to turning Welstones memorial service into a campign party, decided against Mondale?

Popping back in to say "Hey Linda and all."

I agree with all about the memorial service/rally but will go a little further. I think turning the Memorial Service into a rally may have had more far reaching consequences than just Minn. I know that it really disgusted me especially since such high ranking democrats were in attendence. I can see the son turning his grief into something he could handle ie rally but the wiser more experienced heads should have prevailed and calmed things down. Much damage was done that day.
Just my opinion.

In comparison to what? The gal was drugged and out of it,and a teenager.

Lukas was charged with the murder of Orange socks,A hitch hiker, found dead with orange socks. And he killed his own mother.

Later Lucas recanted his storey of killing so many women. There are a lot of law enforcement ,that do believe he killed over 100 women. The investagation would still be on going, had it been taken up.Lucas life was spared by George W.,Where is the equal?

Lucas was the State of Texas, freak show.Had he not have died in prison,he would have been up for parole.

The sleeze ball that ran with Lucas, and was a known killer,Ottis Toole, was thought to have been the man who killed John Walshs son(Most Wanted) and decapitated him.The old fart taunted Walsh from prison about the boy,and never told him the details. The old fart died in prison,2 or 3 years before Lucas.

At the time Lucas and his friend Ottis Toole, were traveling the Texas highways,Women and children disappeared on a daily basis.Women who had car problems, and stuck on the side of the road, were easy targets for Lucas, and friend.
Kids were missing at rest stops and service stations, when their family made pit stops.

Bear1949,We were both wrong.I thought her to be a teenager, and You said her name was Wanda. Bush allowed 120 excutions while he was a Gov..Just "one" escaped their fate.

I also read,The life of an inmate,30 or 40 years costs the State around 700,000.00

A execution costs over 2 million.I remember Beth saying the same thing in a thread.Thats a mind blower!

In the land of the free, our state voters voted down gays recognition of marriage. Yet, the brainiacs voted for a gas tax for better roads. What has our gas and DMV tax been going for already?
