ntc- Helen(self-appointed leader of the thread police) thought I insulted you. You certainly did not insult me, but rather you stated your admiration for Helen's posts, which is at odds with all who believe in preemptive strikes at those who would kill us first.
As far as this thread goes, these unfortunate pilots either made a huge blunder or were possibly under the influence of drugs administered by the military. I don't think they should be severely punished or necessarily made an example of, other than they should perhaps be grounded and demoted.

I don't believe that the pilots should be grounded or demoted based on this tragic accident. This kind of error which occurs during battle is unintentional and unavoidable. By imposing penalties and criminal charges aganist the pilots, the military only compounds the event which was a tragic accident.

Helen(Ms. Gandhi)- Is there anyone who should be punished for anything IYHO? If these pilots were found to have been drinking would they then deserve punishment? As you get older I guess you require thicker and thicker rose colored glasses! They are blinding you to reality which is a bit further than the tip of your nose.

Stusi,

I'm not going to spend the day trading insults with you.

Your what if? question....Drinking pilots, like drinking drivers belong in jail. They are a danger to society.

Helen- First you accuse me of insulting ntc, then you accuse me of insulting you. For one who preaches tolerance you are not a shining example. Isn't one of the basic tenets of tolerance not to perceive everything to be an attack?
On the general issue of the death penalty, everyone, regardless of their crimes, belongs in jail? I, for one, do not want to pay the cost of incarceration for premeditated murder. Terrorists and snipers should die as they lived. The mental illness argument does not wash for these animals.

Stusi,

After wading throung all the silly, grade school comments, I see that you have a few comments about capital punishment.

Your wish, to have the "snipers die as they lived" is the wish of many Americans.

Your characterization of the snipers as "animals" is also shared by many Americans.

Your belief that this shooting spree was perpetrated by mentally healthy adults is also a wide spread belief.

And your need for vengeance is a worldwide problem.

What else is new???
