I can't believe the tirade against Mickey D. It's a fast food business. Would you rather have tofu and sprouts to go. If blame is to fall anywhere it would be against the parents that take there kids there. Not that it so bad. I don't really care for the food but every now and then I will stop for a burger or fries.

They market to kids and there parents because that's there market. It's called free enterprise and It's the American way. Would you rather live under a socialist government.

BTW I think I may sue all the shampoo makers of the last 56 years. I'm not sure which one of them made my hair turn white.
Amen,
Reverend Colin

Don't look now, but we may be hearing about this case some more. The judge dismissed the case, but not on the grounds that there were no merits to the case. He dismissed the case because the litigants had not been more definite in how McDonald's had been negligent; i.e. Chicken McNuggets, which are promoted as a healthy choice even though deep-fried actually end up having twice the fat of a hamburger. The judge allwed that if the litigants would include that information, he would certainly allow the case to continue.

How about that?

>LindaK,I have to do this,Not everyone got the real side of that coffee issue.

Thank you, junquemama, for reposting that link. I've got it hot linked so the next time we get those same, tired old comments about how we need "tort reform" and "caps" on litigation and they pull out this garbage, I'll be ready to zap'm!

I understand the argument that parents must decide for their kids, etc. Just noting some kind of irony here.

Products that are PROVEN to be health hazards are being marketed everywhere. Like the cancer-causing sweeteners in diet soft drinks. We're INUNDATED with advertising promoting these products.

Yet, when someone gets sick, they're told, "you should have known the danger." How, exactly, are we supposed to know that "Sweetalot" causes cancer? They don't exactly emphasize that part of it in the ads.

Look at it from the side of the seller. I'm selling you a product I know is unhealthy and potentially dangerous. But when you get sick I tell you, "you should have known better than to buy that." It makes no sense.

WATER can be unhealthy for you if you drink too much of it.

Whenever we hear reports about how this or that food causes cancer or some other problem, you have to remember just how they test this stuff. They take some rats or mice and feed them about 600% the amount that would normally be ingested over a normal period of time. Then, when the poor things naturally become ill, we get reports shouting about how bad such-and-such is for us...

I just read about this in the paper today. The park where my kids play is right in the middle of the contaminated area. I'm afraid that park is now out of bounds for us.

Fact sheet
Public Health Assessment

Don't drink the water. Four Superfund cleanup sites within an 8-square mile radius. No wonder rent is cheap here.

I always take my thermal coffee mug to Micky's and just stop and pour the hot coffee into it before driving on.

>WATER can be unhealthy for you if you drink too much of it.

Drinking too much water will kill you. Excess water increases pressure on the brain and will crush it. Witness last month when a Utah couple punished their four year old daughter by forcing her to drink too much water and it killed her that way.

Here's our answer to all the fast food problems! We'll soon be able to consume non-stop, 24/7. Modelled after our worship of the success of the fast food industry which has spread through corporations, religion, and government, we can now look forward to the realization of our ultimate spiritual quest: the nation can become one hugh feedlot! Oh, Brave New World Order!
