"They been to stop aggression on other countries"

Let them fight their own fights.
Now tell me the truth. Would YOU volunteer to go risk your life to keep the factions in Yugoslavia from slaughtering each other? Something that has been happening for hundreds of years and no resonable person would think is going to be ending anytime soon since all the basis for hatred is not removed?

I'm not a big scripture quoter - but my dad used to quote one to me when I wanted to get all involved in another person's problems.
The one that goes something like - He who is involving himself in the dispute of another is like one grabbing hold of the ears of a dog.

Stupid - and you are gonna get bit.

gravid - If you are asking do I think every single conflict the US has ever involved itself in was necessary...then my answer would be no.

But as the largest world power, I believe we have had a very important stake in many of the areas were our government did choose to become involved. Especially in countries where their powers-that-be are killing massive numbers of their own people. Take the NK right now. Many articles about the thousands that are being held in slave labor camps for no other reason than the mentioned to someone they'd like to live in SK. Bush said he loathed the NK leader. Everyone was criticing him inciting the NKs. Well anyone who's read what NKs leader is doing to his own people would loathe him too, imo.

But rather going into each and every past conflict I would like to stay focused on the FACT that Bush believes Iraq, Iran and NK were the first nations where changes are needed. WHY? Because their actions present OUR country [& others] with a future threat. So, imo, this IS about protecting OUR land, down the road. And again, I'd support any president who held this same opinion. Why? Because I do believe our government has knowledge of many things we don't have knowledge of.

In luxurious hindsight stupid opines that each and every prior conflict was not necessary yet before realizing that during the time of each of those some leader presented that the action WAS necessary and because of that stupid would have believed in the need then as stupid believes now.
