A lot of very salient links in this thread.

While it could never happen, I'd like to see how a Democrat would've handled post-9/11 and the impact of the terrorist acts upon our country and the economy.

Taking the war to Afghanistan and now Iraq, coupled with the uncertainty of impending war has been disastrous for our economy.

Many will/can say that without the hawkish attitudes and the billions of dollars associated with it, we could re-invest those funds into the US, not on bombing another country/-ies.

That said, while current strategy is harming the economy, doing nothing to retaliate against AQ and Iraq (who are linked) would be more costly in the long run.

I only hope for a quick end to the war and smart vigilance against terrorism domestically. I think/hope that as soon as this war is over, the economy can rebound, and funding cuts can be reversed.
