1. "the enemy is strong and will inflict huge losses on the US;"

I did not make this statement. Of course we were all concerned about US troops being killed but I never described the number as "huge" and I did NOT see it stated by anyone else here.
The civilian number was estimated in the thousands and that is exactly what happened. Thousands of Iraqi and Afghanistan civilians were killed.

2."US forces are weak/unprepared/ill equiped/unready to carry out the objectives"

I did not make this statement and I never read it here.

If you don't read the postings in the thread, then how can you say the position is not what the Anti-American defeatists propagate ?

Reamond

You seem to be referring to a general consensus of opinion when you say,

"The blame America first crowd are also defeatists. Every time the possibility of force is breeched, they will use 3 defeatist tactics: 1. the enemy is strong and will inflict huge losses on the US; 2. US forces are weak/unprepared/ill equiped/unready to carry out the objectives; 3. Our use of force will kill hundreds/thousands/millions of "innocent civilians."

"They used all 3 lies were used to subvert the political will of America in the Afghanistan and Iraq confilcts."

"Now all these Blame America First defeatists have egg on their faces and their credibility is shot as they try the same tactics with the coming conflict with North Korea."

Now you are referring to ONE THREAD?

It is in this thread.

I looked into the "civilian" death toll for Afghanistan and even the lefists have said it was only near 3500.

Imagine 3500 civilian casualities in collapsing a whole country and hostile government. Remarkably low number.

One article also estimated that more than 3500 civilians would have died if the Taliban had stayed in power. It seems that the Taliban were starving drought stricken civilians to death by refusing to allow the delivery of food aid.

So as to the horrible number of civilian casualities, we can say a firm BUNK.

N.Korea Offered to Scrap Nuclear Program-Reports

April 27
— SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korean newspapers reported on Monday North Korea had expressed a willingness during talks last week with the United States to scrap its nuclear plans but only simultaneously with reciprocal U.S. moves.

The JoongAng Daily quoted government sources as saying there were enough "positive aspects" in the proposal to warrant consideration.

North Korea has said it made a "new bold proposal" to the United States during the three-day talks in Beijing last week, but has not given any public details. Washington has also not elaborated on what it heard at the negotiating table.

Chinese officials also took part in the discussions, during which U.S. administration sources say North Korea told Washington it had atomic bombs and could produce more.

"The sources said North Korea proposed, on the first day of the talks, a package of exchanges with the United States, offering to dismantle its nuclear weapons program in exchange for steps by the United States to move toward normal relations with the North," the JoongAng Daily said.

It said one of the sources had said the North Korean proposal was for simultaneous and comprehensive steps to settle differences. The North appeared to drop a demand for a non-aggression pact but asked for a guarantee of no first use of U.S. nuclear weapons, one senior official told the newspaper.

"What was notable, the sources said, was North Korea's expressed willingness to scrap, not just suspend, its nuclear development programs," the JoongAng Daily said.

Another newspaper, the Dong-a Ilbo, said North Korea had outlined a "road map" that included the United States resuming heavy fuel oil shipments that were canceled after Washington said North Korea told it last October it had an active nuclear program despite a 1994 deal to freeze its atomic activities.

"It contained North Korea's scrapping of nukes as a response," the newspaper said, referring to the road map.

"We cannot reveal specifically what North Korea's proposal was, but among them were positive factors worth considering," it quoted a high-ranking government official as saying.

"That is why the United States said it would consider the North's proposal and evaluated the talks as fruitful, in spite of the United States claiming North Korea possesses nuclear weapons," the newspaper quoted the official as saying.

South Korea's unification and foreign ministries could not confirm the newspaper reports.

Now it is time for the United States to begin advancing some hard terms for the N Korean commies. They are running scared - and they should be.

Bush needs to take this opportunity to begin the end of that tyrannical commie little creep that runs N Korean and all his henchmen.

It is time to lay the law down.

Iran is next. Then perhaps Cuba ?

Pax America is coming around and there are alot of petty dictators that will be losing alot of sleep. These creepy tyrannical regimes are crumbling like the delapadated festered rotten garbage that they are.

There is a new dawn coming for the world, and it will be the freest most prosperous day that the world has ever seen.

Keep the faith in your president and your country !!
