seems several people have overlooked the nasty comments made by BigCity, skylite, austbounty...now THAT is the pot calling the kettle black.

No I don't think Linda has overlooked them, I haven't denied them nor have I seen anyone saying I haven't said some disrespectful things... you otoh, along with others your crowd, consistently overlook what you and others say...

then we have kiara, a closet canadian, doing what most canadians do... adds some comedy...

Then, can't you see how hypocritical it is for you to start this thread....or is it a plea for more negative attention -- poor thing.

Will you please read the ENTIRE first post...

Can't you understand this isn't about me... it is about how you and others post about OUR President in such a disrespectful manner that it doesn't allow for anything other than disrespectful postings...

Whether you respect the man or not, he is the Leader of the Greatest and most powerful nation in the world...

You can disagree and still be respectful about it...

I've already answered that question, Twelvepole. Maybe you should read the thread.

You then made it clear that we should not expect respect if we have differing political views that you have. That, Twelveple is anti-American.

YOU are responsible for derailing your thread into an attack on liberals.

Respect is one thing. But freedom of thought and freedom of speech are also important. If one lives in another country there is no reason why they cannot state their views about another.

Twelvepole, there is a certain "do as I do" mentality here.

Twelvepole, this started out as you wanting all to show respect for President Bush.

Now you say these people don't want respect...

So which is it? Are we supposed to be looking for your respect?

Kiara,

Their lack of respect for President Bush and others and disrespectful postings opens them up for disrespectful postings... that is what I am saying... they want to start their threads with disrespectful statements... then that sets the theme for the entire thread.... so sit back and enjoy... so don't go there about freedom of speech, I am not saying they have to agree... or don't come back and say... "Oh Twelvepole that wasn't nice"... it wasn't meant to be...

BTW Kiara do you live on US side the border or Canadian?

NOBODY is looking for your respect, twelvepole. You still don't have the message that you are annoyingly unpleasant.

I only speak for myself, this is not some sort of group position as I do not believe there to be some sort of group. With regard to you 12 I do not look for your respect or disrepect either is as rupugnant as the other. I don't mind your blatent lack of civility realizing the circumstance of your upbringing it's expected. I wouldn't mind if you felt the urge to restrain yourself possibly taking a vow of silence but I do not suggest that either as it is your right to express your narrow viewpoint.

I have championed such unpopular causes as the march in Skokie by the followers of Lincoln Rockwell. If I can tolerate them I can tolerate you, even advocate for your right to voice your hatred of all you disagree with including myself.

While I can understand that school age children should be taught to respect the leader of their country I think that once a person is an adult they can choose to do as they want.

What difference does it make which country I live in or what citizenship/citizenships I hold? I have never expressed my political views on either the US or Canada on any of these forums.

Then post like you want myself and others to respect you...

Sorry, but I will post any which way I wish to. I always have and I will continue to do so.

I've shown far more respect for the office than the officeholder.

Perhaps politicians would get a little more respect if they were not such self serving obvious liers. And I include almost all of them of both parties.

You can't act the selfish fool and hide it by draping a flag across yourself.

No more so than you Helen... no more so than you.

davebraun... that is fine, people like you and Helen deserve each other... no respect can you give others, but think you are derserving of it. Continue to post threads that show your disrespect to the President and his administration, but don't b*tch when you yourself are shown the utter contempt you have shown.

YOU set the tone of your thread... don't pizz and moan when it turns into a flame fest when you start it as such.

That's a good point, dave. I should change my statement..."NOBODY is looking for your respect, twelvepole" to I am not looking for your respect, twelvepole.

There may very well be posters here who are sadly, in need of your respect.
