Well thats pretty stupid, no matter how you feel about the election. The election was not fictitious, nor is the President fictitious. (look up the word fictitious)
That alone, is reaffirming my view he is a total moron.

Envy???
How can anybody be envious of a counrty under the leadership of George Bush? He has trashed the economy, world opinion, the environment and neglected each and every domestic program while waging a mindless, needless, senseless, and reckless war in which our troops are being killed daily.

If I envied the U.S., I would move there, Twelve. That's the beauty of dual-citizenship.
Again, just to make it clear for you, what Bush does, affects the whole world, of which I'm part of, and so is austbounty.
The only b*tching I see, comes from you b*tching about people like me (and austbounty) that don't agree with you. I'm sure it would be a different story if we were both pro-Bush, or pro-guns, or pro-anti-deviants, or pro-anti-homosexuals, etc., but we're not. It's the whole package that bugs you Twelve, but if the voting issue is the only thing you can come up with to try and discredit my posts, it makes you look weak, not me.

Kraft, I cannot do searches on here, but I *thought* at one time you said you couldn't vote in the US elections. (I could be wrong, and am a lot of the time )
But if you hold dual citizenship, you can vote in the U.S. (which I'm sure you probably know, since the whole process of the dual, you would have been informed of that)

Dual citizenship only means I can live in the U.S. or Canada without any work permits and I can cross the border anytime. Voting depends on how long you are at a residence, so if I live in the U.S. for 6 months and Canada for 6 months, I can't vote in either country.
I had to search this for my brothers wife, (btw, who is in the 'probably CANNOT' have dual citizenship catagory.
And found this
Canada's current Citizenship Act (in force since 1977) says nothing at all about voting in foreign elections and loss of citizenship. If you are a citizen of some country other than Canada, of course, you will need to check the laws of that country in order to find out if you could endanger your citizenship in that country by voting in a US election.
Incidentally, US citizens living abroad (whether or not they happen to be dual citizens) should be aware that they may be legally entitled to vote in US federal elections.Even if you have not had any residential ties to the US for years and have no plans to return, you may still vote in federal elections based on your last place of residence before moving away from the US.In such cases, federal law prohibits your former state from declaring you a resident for state tax purposes simply because you have exercised this right to vote in a federal election. For more information on how to register and vote from outside the US, contact the nearest US embassy or consulate, or visit the Web site of the Federal Voting Assistance Program at www.fvap.ncr.gov.

I'll find out for you, Near. I'll call Immigration and ask them where the voting laws stand. As of 2 years ago, I couldn't vote, but things might have changed. My situation has changed somewhat too, so I appreciate your encouragement to check into it further.
Just to add, whether I could or couldn't vote in the U.S., or whether I am or am not a U.S. citizen, shouldn't make any difference about how my posts are viewed.

No, your status on citizenship should not make any difference on how your posts are viewed.
I was looking into it for a SIL,
AND I once did my 'civic duty' by signing people up to vote so that part must have come out

That statement wasn't directed at you, Near, but at anyone who thinks that a person's credible posts have less importance, just because they live in another country.
If, for instance, someone like Twelve didn't agree with me, instead of discussing the issue, he would bring up the fact that I don't live in the U.S. or I smoke pot, or I'm bitchy, or I'm anti-American, etc. Same goes for austbounty. Pretty lame if you ask me.
