Well, you can search back a year. Then click on the last page number at the bottom of the page. (it's 54 now). Go to the url and change the last number to ...say...1000 and it will go back further.
There may be other ways.

Well...that'll be a good trick if YOU can pull that off. But a nice change it would be, for sure.

Just being clear that AW never referred to suspensions as sanctions.

sanction...A penalty, specified or in the form of moral pressure, that acts to ensure compliance or conformity

suspension...1. The act of suspending or the condition of being suspended, especially: a. A temporary abrogation or cessation, as of a law or rule. b. A temporary debarment, as from school or a privilege, especially as a punishment. c. A postponement, as of a judgment, opinion, or decision.

I'll stick to the word AW used....suspended.

I do understand it might be embarassing to admit one couldn't control themself from calling others names and had to be suspended though.

There you go again, linda.

I wasn't suspended for calling others names.

I was suspended for hyphenating a word in a phrase that was not addressed to a poster.

linda...you are not playing well with others. While we are trying to be happy, you are still taking misinformed pot shots.

Oh....but of course. Obviously AW saw it differently.

hmmmm...using a *hyphenated word, that was not adressed to a poster*....good play on words there, helen. But calling or referring to people as a$$holes just wasn't allowed at that time, was it? No matter how well you tried to phrase it at the time. Still earned you a suspension.

But that's old news....so be happy helen. Be happy every day.

linda...you are not playing well with others. I play very well with *others*.
I play very well with *others*.

Linda

I remember the moderation rule!

Address the post, NOT the poster

or something like that?

There is a lot of things now that should be like back then... take for example in EO. Now you can post auctions, or sellers names. I've participated in those, and then think, I sure wouldn't want anyone posting mine! (so I'm guilty of partaking in a thread like that, but I have never posted anyones sellers name or their auctions)

I know you can 'play nice' Linda and I believe you always do!

NTS - Yes....some of the old memories of how things used to be.

The multiple warnings that if one didn't straighten up they'd be suspended. [warned over, and over and over]. Or when they'd finally get suspended, everyone rushing the moderators corner to argue that person's case with the moderator.

Some were so articulate they could insult others and then argue what they said was being taken differently than what they *really* had said.

And yes, I agree on reviewing other peoples auctions. That to most is their livelyhood...and shouldn't be messed with, imo.

So many good laughs....

I am second to the youngest....living that is, there are 5 altogether... left that is.

I have 2 older sistes who are in their late 50's and an older brother who is 3 years older than I, and one younger sister 2 years younger.

So am I considered a middle child? I really never could figure that one out.... btw, my brother agrees, we think I was adopted
(kidding!!!)
I look TOO much like my father for that!

"Oh....but of course. Obviously AW saw it differently."

No, AW didn't see it differently. In those moderated days, there were words that were not allowed even if they were not directed at anyone.

Again, you are misinformed about my post.

The word that I was suspended for was not assholes...although I have said that on occasion. LOL!

Aren't you embarrassed that you get your facts so wrong so often, linda?

I'm glad that you remember the correct word, kiara.

Does anyone know the meaning of the phrase "BACK PEDDLING"?

Apparently used by many politicians and by a certain contributor to this thread.

I hate to admit it Helen but I do enjoy seeing you uncomfortable in this situation.

Yes I guess I am a little childish in feeling this way.

No, I’m not trying to be cruel. But it seems sometimes you come off as the “prophet for all mankind” in your posts.

As that famous American freedom fighter (Rodney King) once said; “Can’t we all just get along?”………..I may be paraphrasing so don’t comeback and club me for it.

Reverend Colin

Helen,
It makes no difference to me what or who you believe.

It's just another one of your "answer my question" post.

You for one should know I was here back around the attack on America and long before that.

BTW where's your friend Borillar.

Well, see what happens when I disappear for a day or two? Linda, Linda, Linda, we somehow managed to turn this into a happy thread and there you go - one uncalled for snide remark and it's back to the same old, same old.

I remember the moderator days. I was hardly posting at that time. The threads were moderated? More like censored.

Cheryl - Accusing me of disrupting a happy thread is just plain silly, and a standard you don't appear to also hold helen to when she has a comment to make.

Helen usually tries to change the subject when anything is posted she doesn't want to have discussed. It's a long time pattern with her. If you see her getting 'happy' in other threads, please notice how seldom that occurs.

And please understand I orginally made ONE simple statement....and it could have been let go. But it wasn't. I am not going to not respond when I see something differently, thank you anyway.

helen - Bashing helen? My first statement was this:

sanctioned....suspended would be more like it.

If you consider that 'bashing' then what would you call your own 'bashing' posts?

I don't feel a need for a thread to bash you helen. But I will disagree as I choose to. There's nothing wrong with my mental health, and I'm VERY surprised you'd even start talking about anyones mental health. I'd have thought it might be a sensitive subject to you personally.

Then you went on to spin your false statements.

First you said that I called others names. You said, I do understand it might be embarassing to admit one couldn't control themself from calling others names and had to be suspended though

That was false.

Then you said that I was suspended for using the term ass hole.

That was false.

Just read this page again and surely you will be able to see how the unhappiness developed and how you were the chief instigator of the contention that developed from what should have been a happy thread.
