KD - If I remember a statement Irene made when the US was first considering invading Iraq...she said Canada had already sent the majority of their troops to Afghanistan as US support/enforcement.
And that how did we expect Canada to now send troops to Iraq?
That's what is meant when other countries aren't willing to spend their own money and then can't help when they're needed.
And I also remember at one time you saying you were concerned some actions we were taking and you stating that whatever choice we made [like pissing off the terrorists] might also carry over [NW fallout] into Canada.
Because we all share on land group, we all have a responsibility to be able and ready to protect it.

Canada isn't a military country. Whether the U.S. is protecting us or not, we have no need for troops of any kind unless they're needed for disasters, etc. That's why any military deployed from Canada will be miniscule at best.
Since 911, the U.S. has asked Canada to spend 30 billion on added boarder security, which we are doing. The U.S. has asked if they can put their DEA on OUR side of the borders, to help catch drug smuggling to the U.S., which we agreed to as well. Coming from a non-military country, I don't see what more we can do to help the U.S. in their wars.
