If I had to take a guess, it would be Carter but then since it's none of my business, I'll just shut up. Lol.

In his 1970 campaign Carter was elected governor on a pro-George Wallace platform. Carter's campaign aides handed out thousands of photographs of his opponent, the liberal former Gov. Carl Sanders, showing his opponent associating with black basketball players. On the stump, Carter pledged to reappoint an avowed segregationist to the state Board of Regents. He promised as his first act to invite former Alabama Gov. George Wallace into the state to speak. Old-line segregationists across the state endorsed Carter for governor.

The fact that you are guessing now, is better than all the assuming you usually do, I guess. But I am not a racist....IF that's what you're trying to imply.
And I'd bet you voted for Carter, for only one reason....his party.

This is the American Independent [CA] website. There they list their stands on the issues.

I do not support each and every view they do, but I agree with the majority of them, but I have always voted the man and the issues.

linda, Actually, I was unable to vote in that election because I was traveling out of state. Carter was the least impressive of any Democratic presidential candidate of those that I have voted for. I have never voted Republican because I don't like the Republican party platform and I have always been happy with the Democratic candidates.

I don't make assumptions. In the guessing game I was simply trying to be friendly.. It's ironic that you, who have a history of making unsubstantiated allegations towards me mention "all the assuming that I usually do". This is false and you know it. I always have reliable links to my information and have never been asked for back up without being able to provide it. On the other hand, you do not. In fact, you have made it clear to Pat and me that you will not provide links. That's your choice but I will note whenever I see something that I doubt. It's your responsibility to prove what you say...not mine.

I copied that paragraph about Carter because it included the information that his opponent was a liberal Republican. As far as the racist issue, the only thread that I can remember about race is the thread about skin shades of mixed race babies. Although your position on that thread was surprising to me, I certainly would not classify you as a racist based only on that.
