There are many benign structural ways to protect national economic interests

You seem to offer up nothing but words... NAME some of the ways...

President Bush is the best choice for President in 2004, Kerry is losing the ground and Nader is picking up.

President Bush won the 2000 election and was elected by the electoral college... as is it was designed to do...

This President didn't sign NAFTA to law Clinton did, if he had been an intelligent President, then he should of seen what was going to happen right? Then to say this President is dumb, dolt, retarded... are you looking into a mirror when you say that?

This President has shown he will back words with actions, he is the Commander in Chief of the World's Greatest Military... we are winning in both Afgahnistan and Iraq... terrorists are pressingoin because they know that they have support here in the US by all the ant-warites... the more you protest the more power you give them... of course I am thinking your blind hatred of President Bush won't let you see that or you're just too stupid to.

I see that the Bush supporters choose to stay blind to the history of NAFTA and that it was instituted by the Republicans.

Unfortunately the US has lost the industrial infrastructure and has sold out to third world countries such as India and China, thus making them stronger. The continual outsourcing of jobs that Bush is so in favor of is going to totally destroy the remainder of the economic strength of the US.

It doesn't help that illegals from Mexico continue to pour in and are now welcomed and encouraged to come and take away more jobs. All the high tech jobs are outsourced but they're not being replaced by other high tech ones, that's the danger.

To now consider flipping burgers as a "manufacturing" job just shows the seriousness of the situation. It doesn't matter who is in the Whitehouse now, the damage has been done.

How can anyone sit there with blind devotion towards Bush and not see the reality of the jobless situation? How can you continue to fluff over all of it by bragging about how great the military is? Look at the big picture.

The Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), is an agreement between the U.S. and five Central American countries: Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Bush is now pushing for CAFTA and I think it has the potential of making things worse than they already are.

reamond - guess you missed bear's post above from the Cato Inst. It explains it fully.

Im not reamond but he does have a good point. As far as bears post I just cannot agree!

What used to be true no longer is. When the exudus of high tech jobs is a one way street it just becomes a decline.
Before as jobs went and new ones came on line this worked out fine but this is not happening anymore.

Its a one way trip....out, not in! No leader can stop this but they can stop giving out the millions in tax credits to these same corporations.
The taxpayers should not have to pay for them to move to cheap labor markets.

Not left, not right.

The president that the Supreme Court put in office in the one offering nothing but words.

BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHY WE ARE LOSING JOBS DUE TO THE DOLT THAT THE SUPREME COURT PUT IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

MILWAUKEE, WI (Talon News) -- A new survey finds that hiring by American companies will take off in the second quarter to meet the demand for goods and services by the American consumer.

LMAO

That is the same thing the Bush crew has been saying for over two years, just wait till next quarter.

Bush has given away 2.7 million jobs and he is the first president since Hoover to have a net loss in jobs during his term.

The facts do not lie.

Bush is a loser and a liar. He loses jobs for true Americans and he lied about WOMDs.

For all the reasons that the liar Bush now gives for invading/occupying Iraq, we should have invaded Saudi Arabia instead.

But as it has been shown time and again, Bush is in the pocket of the Saud family.

Bush lost the popular vote to Gore and Bush had the electoral college given to him by the Supreme Court.

Kerry will beat Bush and hopefully we'll never have another a$$hole Bush in office again.

I predict a landslide for Kerry.

Reamond I see no other poster coming in here talking the way you do and BTW Mr. Kerry. i.e. Snowboarding while on vacation.
A discussion is just that. I don't see bear or Linda talking like that. They bring facts and they don't back up their words by saying nasty ones. They are running a clean campagine.

One reason the USA has the electorate college is to give everyone one (States) an equal voice. Popular or not it is designed so that the states i.e. California, (the mighty movie stars who some said they were leaving if Bush was elected are still here,) New York cannot push their adjenda and win the election. Yes it is a concervative supreme court but that isn't Bush's fault. If Gore had required the whole state to recall then maybe things would have been changed. No guts no glory. But remember that election was almost 4 years ago and you still are harping on it. It's getting old. There are other ways to vent and maybe you should think about volunteering someplace to take your mind off of it. BTW do you live in the States?

LOL, reamond over all is a pretty "tame" poster. Obviously you haven't read some of the "quotations" by Bear and Linda.

Just to be fair about this, things can get a bit heated here as there are lots of raw emotions at times. People are people.

You agree with reamond? Up until 3-4 months ago I also agreed with much of what he's said. He's gone to the 'other' side lately.

high tech jobs - Somewhere on the many posts/threads I posted that one that addressed your first statement. First my showing the actual numbers of high tech jobs being lost aren't as bad as the dems are making them out to be

and

second that under the Bush administration the number of H1b jobs has been lowered from the numbers that were allowed in during the clinton administration. A dramatic drop. [Trying to say Bush has worked to reverse that trend]

Its a one way trip....out, not in! No leader can stop this but they can stop giving out the millions in tax credits to these same corporations.

Please share with me exactly HOW kerry has proposed to do this. [In his own words.] Especially how he will do this with the republicans having the majority in Congress.

Libra,

Take a look at the topics and their idiotic, myopic, narrow minded view of issues here. Because of personal attacks and the need to research those *facts* that you talk about, a discussion with them is untenable.

I agree with lou Dobbs from CNN and some of the economists where they look at both sides of this issue.

I still feel that there is no need to hand out huge tax credits for them to move to cheap markets. Something must be done before its too late.

kerry??? He will not be able to do much anymore than Bush can. BTW understand something here, I am not a backer of Kerry anymore than I'm a backer of Bush.

I try to see and understand the issues from both sides and then go with the one that I think has the best grasp on the issue.

I never follow any party with undying devotion. By nature I distrust them all.

I would like to see a political balance between the "Houses".

I am curious as to how this discussion would be going if Gore had won?...

"But but Presdient Clinton signed NAFTA into force, President Gore is just living with it, trying to make the most of a bad situation..."

"WOW, who would of thought they would strike again after we left them alone after 9/11?"

"I wish the UN would make a decsion on Saddam."

Linda, in case you didn't notice, there was a there after my statement.

I do think you're slightly annoyed with me because I usually have some facts to back up my statements and don't just post drivel and then avoid any questions. (Like NAFTA, job loss, conditions in Iraq, etc)

I also think you're slightly annoyed to find out I don't back Kerry when you thought I did.

But that's okay, I still enjoy reading your point of view.

kiara - You are WRONG, once again. I've asked you questions to learn how you see certain issues differently from kerry's position. You have chosen to take that to mean I hold the position you support kerry. I've even asked you directly IF you do support kerry....and I get a 'have a good day' icon as an answer.

I have never stated you were pro-kerry, just that your posts are very anti-Bush. And they are.

And thank you for posting that thread. I do now see what I didn't notice before....your statement that you don't support kerry. I truly did not see that before and I apologize for that.

BUT you continually refuse to answer any questions I pose to you on how kerry would do something that you're criticizing Bush or my country for doing, differently. And you don't answer. Your right not to do so, obviously.

Linda, how can I possibly speak for Kerry? How can I possibly know what he's going to do?

I speak for myself.

As far as that other thread, I did ask you and you dodged the question by saying that you'd posted things here before. I hadn't read political threads until recently and wasn't about to dig back through a year or more.

And trai, I want to do that at least once before I die! LOL
