Twelve, that's the longest post you've ever done here that hasn't been a copy and paste. It doesn't quite look like your style but I'll give you credit for it. Your last memorable one was when you answered me that time and put in about a dozen smilies.

I'm glad you're a good sport and take my comment as a compliment as I was being kind when I said his comments don't hold much merit. I could have very easily said they hold "no" merit.

I admit I'm not that good at politics but I like to learn everything I can and I try to see things from both sides. Also, I do much more than auctions...... some of us can be very good at multi-tasking.

You mentioned my name 4 times and Kraft's 3 times so I think you do have some soft feelings for Canucks. Lol, at least you and I have something in common, we both sleep fine at night.

I don't see why anyone should leave, people disagree. All the time, in RL too, of course, but they seem to more on the internet, I don't know.

The reason being we cannot see or touch the poster of the threads and it is easy to either agree or disagree. In real life we have a tendency to agree with the person we are face to face with. This is the reason such threads are written. They are written because we "hate" or "abhore" the person writing the threads that don't agree with our thinking. Posting real stories instead of thoughts are the best way to go but some post thoughts that are discusting so therefore others strike out at them.

This is my idea why threads get out of hand... How can you dislike anyone that disagrees with someone. Unless you know that person in real life it is hard to do. We all have different opinions and express them in different ways as this Round Table shows us.

In real life we have a tendency to agree with the person we are face to face with.

In RL I've disagreed with the way that some of my friends and loved ones do things or their political views but I respect them for who they are and their right to believe what they do and they do the same with me.

They are written because we "hate" or "abhore" the person writing the threads that don't agree with our thinking.

we ? Speak for yourself, Libra. I've been here for a very long time and I've disagreed with several posters on different issues but I can't think of a single one that I've hated. In fact I like many of the people who have different views than I do.

I don't hate anyone in RL either. For you to even make that comment, shows that you read something entirely different into the posts than I do.

"They are written because we "hate" or "abhore" the person writing the threads that don't agree with our thinking."

I don't hate anyone here either. I generally ignore some people like twelvepole because he makes unfounded and outrageous insults without reason. We all come here with differing life experiences and education so whatever we say is simply reflective of that.

I was speaking for myself. If you read the thread correctly. This is my idea why threads get out of hand. That is what I said and that is what I mean.

Libra, do you really feel hate toward somebody for words types on a internet thread? Or do you feel other people do?

I could never take it that seriously, although I do see some that hang on every word that is written. (Its kinda pathetic, if you ask me but so it is in real life too.)

There are some people that are very sensitive, even to posts on the internet.

I've seen other boards with the 'omg, poor me, everyone is picking on me' bs, that THAT is pathetic....

I am sensitive, but only by Helen, I get so stressed when she talks harshly to me, I want to cry sometimes

NOT

Seriously, if something is 'upsetting' to anyone, they can simply just walk away from the computer, or ignore.

The only "real" thing on the internet is the "ideas" expressed.

There really are no "real" people or personalities here, at least we have no way of really knowing who is who or what is what.

"Helen" may be a 25 year old transexual male.

I may be a 17 year old in England.

Or I could be the transexual.

Taking what is said here personal is probably not the best way to go about things.

I knew it! I could tell by that accent! LOL

HELEN!?!?

Yeah its true. But then even 'ideas' can be taken from other places. Like op ed piece and the like, so damn, this is all virtual!

I noticed that too Kiara! He's obsessed with you, me and Helen. I love how he tells everyone 2 or 3 times a week how much he dislikes us three. I wonder who he's trying to convince?

P.S. I think your political posts are great, btw.

Twelve, my having dual citizenship bugs you, doesn't it? The fact that I'm BOTH an American AND Canadian does a number on you. Maybe it's because having dual citizenship gives me a bit more power than you with your silly single citizenship. It's OK though - lots of people are jealous of me.

Neutor-Both,
Maybe hate is a strong word, but when people can't get over what HAS happened and move into the future is something I cannot understand. Look what happened to Rush Limbaugh.
i.e.
Statement about the electoral college. Dumb
It will never be change, well I can't say never, but it is a way of electing that everyone has a vote.

I can't imagine the movie actors electing a president for me. I am totally against the movie actors and actresses that have been so outspoken but notice they haven't done anything about it.
Did Alec Baldwin leave the country as he said he would? No My reason is he can't make the money somewhere else than here.

My Opinion------------ No need to answer

KD-What gives you more power to have a dual citizenship? If you live in Canada that's great. They have clean and beautiful cities, great roads, nice people. I lived close to Canada and went there several times. What advantage do you have with a dual citizenship I have no idea. Can you tell me? I know that you would be able to vote in an american election but that is about all I know.

Libra, I was just being sarcastic to Twelve. Honestly, besides voting and being able to work in both countries, there's not that much advantage.

I live near Canada (BC) too. We used to go there a lot when we were younger.

one time, when we stopped at the customs booth, and they asked for everyone's ID. I forgot mine!

They had us pull the car to the side, and made me come into the office part. Give them my SS # , my address, then.... they had my hold up my right hand, and repeat after the clerk, that I was a U.S. citizen, blah blah.... I kid you not! LOL I was so embarrassed! I think they all probably laughed when I left, because I really don't know if that is or was their regular procedure. Everyone I was with in the car was laughing their asses off, I was not! Course I look back and laugh

ok that was off topic, but my expierence in Canada! that and when we thought getting those 222's up there got you high, they didn't! oh to be young and dumb again! not

That's hilarious, Near!! I bet those Customs people are still laughing about that!

Also, I didn't find out until recently that you can't get codeine (222's) in the U.S. What do you do for migraines or cramps? Nobody's O.D.'d on it yet, so why can't you guys have any?

Well, they used to put it in over the counter cough syrup here, but thats been a long time since they did that. 60's? earlier

Its an opiate, so its illegal

What do people do when they get migraines or cramps. Oh you know, the local dealer, pick up a dime bag, hellava deal.

I'M KIDDING!!!!!

I guess people with migraines or cramps would see their dr. I get painkillers by prescription, but not for those reasons.

Just thinking back on those 222's.... they put aspirin and caffiene in them, that there is no way you can get 'high' off them! But heck 25 or more years ago, we thought.......
