Lewinsky Not Pleased With Clinton Memoir
By SUE LEEMAN
Associated Press Writer

LONDON (AP) -- Monica Lewinsky begs to differ. The former White House intern scorned Bill Clinton's explanation that he had an affair with her "just because I could," and accused the former president of failing to correct the record and make clear their relationship was mutual in his new memoir.
In her first public comments on the book, "My Life," Lewinsky accused Clinton of trying to destroy her with his characterization of the affair as something dirty and wrong, and argued the liaison was one of mutual affection.
"I really didn't expect him to go into detail about our relationship" in the book, the 30-year-old Lewinsky said in an interview with The Daily Mail.
"But if he had and he'd done it honestly, I wouldn't have minded. ... I did, though, at least expect him to correct the false statements he made when he was trying to protect the presidency."
"Instead, he talked about it as though I had laid it all out there for the taking. I was the buffet and he just couldn't resist the dessert," she was quoted as saying.
In an interview with Independent Television News broadcast Friday, Lewinsky said she was especially upset by Clinton's assertion on CBS' "60 Minutes" that he embarked on the affair "for the worst possible reason. Just because I could."
"I was really upset when I first heard it," Lewinsky said.
She said she had spent the past several years trying to "move on" and build a life.
"It has been so difficult because of so many of the lies that he has told about me and about what happened," she told ITN.
"I can understand someone wanting to save his presidency. But I don't accept that he had to completely desecrate my character, which not only affected me, but my family, my friends and my future."
Lewinsky noted that when prosecutors began pressuring her about her affair with the president, she was the same age his 24-year-old daughter, Chelsea, is now.

Ya, like she was an innocent. She's the one that held onto the dress. Just what did she plan to do with it? She discredited her own character. The act takes two people (unless one has an unusually long neck and can bend into ungodly shapes, LOL).

There's a growing list of people not happy with what clinton has said in his new book... when referring to situations that involve them. Some are actually accusing him of lying about issues he brings up. GASP!!! How can that be? If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, quacks like a duck....it's a duck.

Monica's no innocent, by any means and she needs to take responsibility for her own actions. She's the one who put herself in this position.

How could he, logansdad, he did almost nothing to protect this country. Why would those who had business dealings with saddam want to side with us against a terrorist.
Clinton could have had binladen two times....just wasn't interested in upsetting those Europeans I guess.

Yep, as I see them I've been posting them to bears thread on the clinton book. Sure we'll see a lot more as more who are mentioned in his book point out he wasn't telling the truth....again.

I guess I will never understand. It takes 2 to have an affair. To blame one over the other is wrong. Why couldn't just one of the liberal posters say they both were wrong but no all had to stand up for Clinton. Blame Monica it is easy to do . Remember it took Clinton 1 year of counseling to put that behind him, if it was minor why did he need counsling at all. I guess the liberal posters don't think there are two sides to every story. The one side they believe in is the one that fits in their agenda. I tell you I would be ashmed if he had been my dad.

Now if you had a daughter and it happened to her who would you blame??? But then maybe you don't have children and then it is easy to blame the women.

Actually almost all of Europe laughed at the way we handled the affair. This is nothing over there and they couldn't believe we made such a big deal over it. Heck, look at Charles and Diana.

Libra

No one said they don't blame both of them. I certainly do. Like I said, "it takes two". If my daughter pulled the same stunt, I'd say she's just as guilty as the man. More so because I'd have hoped I taught her better. And, men can be such pigs. LOL!

If he was so easy to capture why hasn't Bush captured him. Bush has spent the past three years in Afghanistan without any luck. How many troops are in Afghanistan looking for Bin Laden? Apparently not enough because the troops are in the wrong country going after the wrong person.

Libra - here's what you actually don't get about liberals. We don't blame either one for the affair. We are not so hung upp on sex that we even really care. In fact, for the most part, we think that conservatives made themselves appear petty vindictive and childish during the investigation. The only thing Monica is blamed for is being so stupid, lazy and/or potentially manipulative that she didn't wash the damn dress.

Now I just think she is a niave child that STILL has not figured out that men do not equate sex with love.

Linda_K & Bear, I really can't believe you people are still talking about the past and Clinton. We Americans can't change what dead or alive past Presidents did or didn't do. There is a growing list of books about how our current President Geo Bush went to WAR with Iraq. These books are written by well respected people not a BIMBO.

To stay present, I just heard yesterday that Bush has done another one of his many FLIP FLOPS about North Korea. Its a funny thing but I don't hear or see the words FLIP FLOPS from republicans currently.

OUTSOURCE THE BUSH GOVERNMENT BEFORE ITS TO LATE.

bigpeepa. I think the reason is that Clinton cannot stay out of the spot light. Just when you think he is gone out comes this book called "My Life". Well is it his life or is it something that he wished was his life. I wish I would have seen Oprah when she interviewed him.

Now everyone knows he will be in the spot light again when Hillary runs for president. Bush will win a 2nd term and then Hillary will come into focus. I commend Hillary for standing by him as she could have made it rather difficult for him. This will all come out again and maybe he should have thought more about writing this book but most of all writing a book that is true..

It's even in the news. Oh heavens....

Some who have read the book even have the absolute gull to come out and say clinton's telling MORE lies about them/statements they've made. Oh...surprise surprise.

These books are written by well respected people not a BIMBO.

It's not nice to call clinton a bimbo, bigpeepa.

So let me get this straight... Monica says it's not true because well damnit, she just knows he loved her and Netanyahu leader of the Isreali opposition party makes a critical political denial and a convicted spy says he just knows damn well he was supposed to be released an d you have decided that the whole book is a lie?

So, you have chosen to believe a scorned lover, a spy, a face saving politican? Conservatives really will believe anything as long as it denegrates Clinton won't they.

There's more than just a couple of people who are publically saying he lied in his book. The list is getting longer.

Conservatives believe what all the other people say about him...and his lies. It's the left that is in total denial that he's a habitual liar and believe ALL these other people are the ones lying...not their guy. But it's being proven once again.

Well Fenix how do we know that Monica is lying or is Clinton lying. Nobody knows for sure except the guilty parties and yes both parties are guilty. I never said she was innocent as it takes two to tango. More people have come forth since this book has come out. Think how long it took with Paula Jones. Clinton wanted to postpone Paula Jones' case until after he ended his presidency. What for? Face it he just doesn't want to tell the truth. If he would have told the truth in the first place we wouldn't be here discussing it. As I said in a previous statement. Why was Clinton in counseling for over a year for this. If he is telling the truth then he shouldn't have been in counseling at all. This isn't a party issue. This has to do with telling the truth.

Libra - why do you think either is lying? Why do you think I said either is. I thin k that if you actually read my statements I have not even implied that one is lying. I'm saying that as in many male/female relationships, the people involved saw things differently.

Monica has said she was in love with him. He has said she was basically, something to do. I think that Monica mislead herself as many young women involved with older married men do.

Why did he want to wait to deal with Paula Jones after he left office.... wow - are you really not able to figure that one out? Admit to a previous affair in court as a sitting president... why, that could start... senate investigations maybe from puritanical political rivals.... nah...that would NEVER happen.

As for the counseling ... come on Libra - lets get real - I don't think anyone needs couseling to get over that woman. On the otherhand, a self destructive tendancy that leads to such actions as affairs with 20 somthing interns would definately be something that would need some deep exploration.

Oh yes....reality. Reality to some is continually saying how calm, cool and collected one is while out of the other side of their mouth comes..."I get so angry I just want to kick them in the azz". [paraphrased there]. Reality is being able to admit anger when one feels angry.

I thought maybe a direct quote would be better - her own words rather than mine.

kiara said:
"I get angry whenever I read some of the narrow-minded comments made by some of the people here. It makes me want to scream out and ask them who the hell they think they are that they want to force their beliefs on everyone else. I keep telling myself that I should be more tolerant of them but sometimes the ignorance just gets to me."

and then:

...."it does make me angry at times and I feel like telling them to cram it up their azzes."

Now I know why you attack Helen and Kraft too. Hahahahaha...

BTW, you're taking things out of context so please paraphrase somewhere else. Go check back on the Judge/Mayor thread and you will see my exact words to you and they were to "cram it up your ass". Maybe I should have said to pull your head out first though because you didn't quite clue in yet.
