linda says,"LOL - Think you might just have him confused with the past president who played golf all the time."
No confusion. Documented video tape.

We weren't discussing Billy Crystal or John Kerry's looks but how the vice-president has the family values and dirty mouth of a street gang.

Dear la la libra, a nuisance to whom?
You? linda?
Why a nuisance?
You could ignore me...it's not like I'm knocking on your door or calling you on the phone.
No, it's because linda ran into a brick wall of truth and couldn't do a google search to prove me wrong. So she ran and hid after leaving a rather stupid retort....calling me a troll and I answered THAT post.
It's kind of like DICK cheney saying F--- You to a senator....when you can't handle the truth....get nasty!
DUH! I just got it....you're Republicans! The truth is such a nuisance!

Hi Linda_K, after reading all of this post and others like it. I want to ask your opinion on something. If I am remembering right didn't Geo Bush say if elected he would "unite" this country and not divide it. Linda in your opinion how is Mr. Bush doing on this campaign promise. Thanks in advance, I will be waiting for your reply.

This country hasn't been this divided since the Vietnam War! It's a shame really. I don't discuss politics with my brother anymore. He's a Republican. His take is although Bush is not the best president we've ever had (well, duh), at least he's fighting the terrorists. I watched a 20/20 special on Guatanamo Bay Friday night. What an eye opener. Yes, George, you are doing a heck of a job imprisoning innocent people! I'm surprised you didn't pull an Islamic round-up in the U.S. We once rounded up the Japanese Americans. You could have used that as an excuse, "Well, President Roosevelt did it".

bigpeepa - If I am remembering right didn't Geo Bush say if elected he would "unite" this country and not divide it.
Yes, he sure did. This was a campaign issue in 2000. He used his background in Texas as proof that even with a majority of dems in their legislature he was successful in getting the reps and dems to work together in doing what was in the best interest of the people of Texas.
It's my opinion that he was comparing that to the division in our nation that had occurred under the clinton/gore administration.
Then what happened was the 2000 election fiasco. I don't think it was possible that he could have forseen this problem while the campaign was being waged.
The dems were angry and made this an issue for over two years....and again it's resurfacing now.
But initially he did bring the dems into the fold of working for what was in the best interest of the nation - worked with Ted Kennedy on the NCLB bill, etc. That's how they got the tax cut passed and other first two year programs passed. Remember, until 2002 the dems had the majority.
Like anything else in life...it takes two [sides] to make things work....TWO. Imo, you can't blame the fact that they didn't continue to unite together in this effort only on one [side].

Linda: thanks for posting the link to that thread. Looks like I owe you an apology as you never said much about Kerry's swearing in the thread.
However--I did see something very interesting in the that thread--EbayAuctionguy posted:
As usual, the lefties don't get it. The issue is not Kerry's profanity, it was his anger and contempt for the Secret Service agent who was just trying to do his job.
Which is exactly what the senator Cheney told to f@#% off was doing...

Thank you very much, bunni. It takes a BIG person [person of high character] to admit being incorrect....and I've always seen you that way.
On the swearing issue.
For me personally, there's a big difference between those who use offensive language in every sentence that comes out of their mouths, as opposed to an understandable 'outburst' on rare occasion. No matter their 'party'.
