Sorry.. but I don't see what the "Big Deal" is about debating or translating each and every report and editorial. I would like to believe that we are all adults here and really don't need someone to translate or explain things to us..
In a nutshell...It all boils down to this..
Politicians espouse one thing and then practice another... and you are really naive if that's what gets your knickers in a knot!
For my part.. I think it is always better to try to come up with a pithy, well constructed and eloquent put-down..but, c'mon guys/gals, the ability to do so under pressure eludes us most of the time and sometimes one's adversary is not worthy of such well-thought-out irony/sarcasm- it would sometimes be above his/her head in any case and therefore wasted..

Although I don't appreciate your thoughts, I think that I understand how you feel, Maggiemuggins. As you mentioned in your first thread, you find discussion here pathetic but rather endearing.
BTW...It appears that your insult italicized above was wasted on at least one poster as you suggested might happen. Maybe you will need to dumb them down a bit to appeal to what you perceive as a pathetic audience.

Maggie hasn't been here as long and still (and hopefully always) views things very objectively.
Helen has more experience here and knows more of what a tangled web this is.
Both descriptions are valuable!
Both posters are interesting and enlightning.

What will you do crofarm, say you're leaving and then change your mind again... but at least in your case that is something easily handled... size really doesn't matter in your case....

And just yesterday, while I was drinking my morning coffee.. I said to myself.. that Helen is one of my favorites on this board.. she is smart, and insightful, and very compasionate..
Now.. I was trying to figure out a way to say all of this in a post.. without getting you all in a tizzy.. thinking you had another pesky groupie.. when I found my little Smiley people and thought I would play awhile with them..
Well.. right off the bat..I get you all pizzed at me because Linda's Smiley kept winning the fist fight with your Smiley.. and you wrote to inform me that wasn't right, since you always won.. So I apologized to you and told you that I should have paid more attention and assured you that next time I would let your Smiley win...
Then in my haste to make things right with you.. I made a comment on Linda's "way with words", not even realizing that I backhanded you another insult! Honest Injun..I didn't mean it the way you took it. I was in fact trying to compliment you on your ability to spar with Linda.. better than I ever could.
But you saw evil intent.. where none was implied.. and you started the mud slinging and insults... comparing me to Bush and insulting my intellect..then all your other groupies started to circle..
Damn, Girl.. you darn near hurt my feelings...making me feel like a red-headed stepchild.. Then you added insult to injury by offering to make Peace.. and then taking it back.. LOL

But see, if you listen to Helen long enough everybody except herself and choice grupies are daft, dilly and pesky peasants. I cannot see for the life of me, where she supports the democratic party - and when did the democrats become aristocrates here? I think its very much some lofty ideals she seems to cling to, but hardly if ever, merits out in any practical application.
