Yes, this is a true statement.

I asked EAG why he believes this is true, and he has yet to give me any response to his claim. He has dodged the question repeatedly for 5 days, yet it is obvious he really strongly believes Cheney is the best VP ever. He couldn't give me 5 reasons, so I lowered it to 3, and he still can't reply. I find this quite amusing since he is so quick to respond with little jabs, but can't seem to give us the knock out.

EAG's only reply was to give some stupid remark regarding me, but simply wouldn't answer the question at hand.

I am sure all of us Lefties, and some of those on the Right would love to know why Dick Cheney is the best VP ever.

So, I call you on this one EAG. If you want to make such claims, please back them up.

Hey Rusty, if you need a good laugh, click on my link. I typed in "best vice president cheney" and came up with a whopping 121 entries on Google (that alone is funny!). Seems the only people that think he was the best VP are his wife and Bush.

Rusty, Rusty, Rusty....you just gotta learn ...you back a neocon against the wall with a bunch of those horrifying things called FACTS and they just up and disappear!

Do you know how many times linda has said Kerry is a communist sympathizer because he spoke out against the Vietnam war. And when I point out that bush never went at all she just disappears....she has never answered one of those posts but she still keeps insisting that bush is a better American 'cause he stayed drunk while Kerry(that COMMUNIST) actually went there and fought!

Thanks for the tidbit. I can easily name numerous VPs that were better than Cheney. Hell, I'll start at the beginning of US History and begin with Thomas Jefferson. I should probably back up my claim with some facts that make Jefferson a better VP than Cheney. Hmmm. Let's see... Oh, I believe TJ was the author of the Declaration of Independence. TJ also went on to become a President. TJ was President during the Louisiana Purchase, he was integral in supporting the expansion west and helped Lewis and Clark with government backing of their famous expedition. Yes, it is true TJ was a slave owner, something that he actually inherited after he retired from his law career, however, during the times that was very commonplace, and legal. Not to say that slave ownership was admirable, because it wasn't, and it was as we say, a sign of the times. I might add that he was the founding father of Univ. of Virginia.

I would say those are pretty admirable accomplishments. He was much greater than what we see a Vice President to be today.

I will be sprinking a few more great VP candidates as this saga with EAG continues. I'm sure he'll have a hard time with all this, since Cheney has done some great things during his life. lol.

Well let's see... Cheney is a straight talking, resolute, no-nonsense, staunch conservative with experience, intelligence and loyalty. And he's (lefties cover your eyes!) a capitalist! (gasp!)

If something happened to Bush, Cheney would continue dealing ass-whuppings to terrorists and growing the economy. Without missing a step. Big time.

Think Ronald Reagan without charisma and you get Cheney.

Now, rustydumbo, who are your choices for the best vice presidents of the past 100 years? Name at least five. Crazy Al? LBJ? Truman? This should be interesting.

OMG!!!

Cheney is a straight talking, resolute, no-nonsense, staunch conservative with experience, intelligence and loyalty. And he's (lefties cover your eyes!) a capitalist! (gasp!)

None of those are accomplishments EAG. In fact, of all of those things, the only truths are his intelligence and being a capitalist. I can't even give you the staunch conservative because of his dismal record for the incredible spending package that the current administration has sponged out of middle and lower class Americans pockets. Cheney has never been straight talking unless you mean right out of the side of his mouth. No-nonsense??? Come on now, that is absurd to think he's no nonsense. He is nothing but nonsense. How can you say this when he claims to have no ties to Halliburton, yet received about $200,000 from them last year, and has a huge stock-option pile from Halliburton??? What is no-nonsense about that? No ties to Halliburton means no ties, not some ties.

As for an asswhipping for terrorists, I see they are doing such a fantastic job of that right now. Osama is still on the loose as are thousands of his followers. Ironic that we didn't finish the job in Afghanistan and kill or imprison Osama. America has the greatest military intelligence in the world and it has been 3 years. Perhaps more than a handful of troops searching the mountains of Afghanistan should be used to get this killer, or perhaps Bush and Cheney are just protecting him as a favor to their Saudi buddies, the Bin Ladens.

Ronald Reagan without the Charisma??? that is laughable. Comparing Cheney to Reagan is like comparing Hussein to Hitler.

I'll try to add a better VP to my list each and every day, and to top that off, I'll also mention their accomplishments, not some broad generalizations you made. I asked for accomplishments, and you gave me BS.

I might add that the Reagan family has done alot to distance themselves from the current administration, especially the Bush's. Ron Reagan has gone as far as to tell us he's voting for John Kerry. Seems interesting to see the son of a President take a different stance on politics than his powerful father. Perhaps he saw something in dad's politics that pushed him away from the GOP.

We'll all hope that Bush will act as stupid as he usually does and keep Cheney on the ticket. That way, he can tell all the doubting Thomases to go f@#$ themselves, LOL!

OK, with what the liberals are saying, Cheney is a big #*!@ liar and the conservatives are the blind victims of a snow job.

It worked for Clinton, what is the problem? You just proved why Cheney is Presidential material.

I also am going to add how funny I think EAG is for always mentioning Al Gore in comparison to Dick Cheney.

What I find so funny about it, is that he wants me to defend someone who I didn't vote for. Amazing how every neo-con thinks all liberals think and vote the same.

Here is a clue for everyone out there. NOBODY THINKS ALIKE!

You might also find it amusing that I, along with what Linda K likes to refer to as a group of "ultra-liberals" protested Al Gore's lack of environmental policies during his Vice-Presidency. He came to Florida State University (when he was on crutches) to dedicate the new Magnetic Lab, and about 50 of us showed up to protest him. We named our protest, "Hey Al, Read Your Book!" in reference to his book, "Earth In the Balance". We even had to have a meeting with the Secret Service a day prior to the protest.

It is funny to think that liberals are only happy when we have a left leaning leader in office. Just to think that they are easy targets for liberals must really make you neo-cons shudder!

Perhaps one can recognize that his other son, Michael, doesn't see it the same way as younger - more liberal - 1/2 brother does.

When are you gonna answer what accomplishments Cheney has accomplished to make him the Greatest VP ever in the history of the USA?

EAG has answered. You don't like his answer, but he HAS answered. Now you're harassing him and I hope he continues to ignore you.

Cheney has more influence as a VP than all of the recent VPs. He is seen as having more power to influence the decisions in the WH .....more so than other VPs.

He's very qualified to serve as President in the event Bush cannot complete his duties. He has served in 4 administrations....and served this country well.

He has worked to regain the power of the office of President....keeping it separate from the other two branches...as he believes it should be.

He gives speeches....raises money....and has been involved for over 3 years in the running and decision making process of the Bush Administration.

That - compared to Edwards total lack of experience. Experience even kerry said should concern us all during these times.

Don't you mean he writes Bush's speeches, raises taxes and has been making the decisions for Bush the past three years when he is not in hiding or in the hospital with health problems.

('cause LINDA says so!)

(ya, so seperate ..why, it's almost like a power unto itself! with no control whatsoever)

He gives speeches....raises money....and has been involved for over 3 years in the running and decision making process of the Bush Administration.
(Involved? Yuppers! Kinda like having taken over completely from that boob bush)

That - compared to Edwards total lack of experience. Experience even kerry said should concern us all during these times.
(Uh, it's like when you're looking for your first job and can't get hired because you have no experience....you don't get experience being VP until you are.
AND if "these times" under Bush are so wonderful why the concern for Edwards "lack of experience)
Did we mention Cheney's aiding the communists by not serving in the Vietnam War...just like BUSH!
