Hmmm. Surprisingly enough, I took the quiz and yes, I am a Neo-Conservative!

Neoconservatives…

Want the US to be the world's unchallenged superpower
Share unwavering support for Israel
Support American unilateral action
Support preemptive strikes to remove perceived threats to US security
Promote the development of an American empire
Equate American power with the potential for world peace
Seek to democratize the Arab world
Push regime change in states deemed threats to the US or its allies
Historical neoconservative: President Teddy Roosevelt

Modern neoconservative: President Ronald Reagan

Well helen you like crowfarm come in and criticize but then it will happen to you sometime. What will you do then. I will take your criticism lightly as I do crowfarm because as of now we know crowfarm doesn't know how to spell either. Maybe your grammar will be next....This is a discussion board not an English or Spelling lesson as I was told by a previous poster who doesn't seem to be here any more OR posts under a different ID.

Maggie,

Looks like I need a new stronger prescription of smart ass pills to keep up with what Libra's talking about. Nevermind...

Helen-Did my post go way over your somewhat small mind. Well then you don't read before you write because you will know that Crowfarm never spells incorrectly (smile}as it has been stated and you never use bad grammar, yet to be proven. It will happen wait and see. Of course, I will not correct you as I am not in a position to. I didn't correct crowfarm but someone else did. I would never say I told you so.

No surprise what my quiz answers revealed:

Liberal

Liberals…

Are wary of American arrogance and hypocrisy

Trace much of today's anti-American hatred to previous US foreign policies.

Believe political solutions are inherently superior to military solutions

Believe the US is morally bound to intervene in humanitarian crises

Oppose American imperialism

Support international law, alliances, and agreements

Encourage US participation in the UN

Believe US economic policies must help lift up the world's poor

Historical liberal: President Woodrow Wilson

Modern liberal: President Jimmy Carter

AND PROUD OF IT!

Another good example of a neocon....

A neocon will try anyway they can to promote hate.
They will spread a story about how the French didn't help a woman on a train, trying desperately to make the French look bad when sh!t like this happens all the time all over the world.

Then in a great stretch the Op contends that since this woman was Jewish the French hate the Jews....what garbage and this IS JUST what the Nazi's did ...turned people against each other with hate campaigns.

Then others chime in with brain dead stupid comments like "France is a cesspool".

And the neocons have started the circle of hate.

The poster's aim is make us hate an entire nation! Please apply a little logic ...do you REALLY think this has never happened in any other country?
What possible reason would a person have for hating an entire country based on one small incident....that's just plain old-fashioned stupid and in my opinion just evil for evil's sake.

Libra - This site offers a description/definition of 'neo-cons'....a good one, imo.

No what is sad is you crowfarm, you complain about people calling names and other rot, yet you keep going to lowest denominator by addressing linda and not the topic... you can't lead by example and it seems all you can follow are those misguided indivuals that post here...

<---- Liberal.

One of the big differences between conservatives and NeoCons that no one has really touched on Libra is that true consertatives believe in smaller government whereas modern NeoCons believe that government expansion into the bedroom and legal privacy issues is warranted, just and even neccesary.

Twelve, Boy!, you sound just like linda with that post..............so sad.

But, really twelve, are you setting an example of proper behaviour? And why does one have to set an example , one is not their parent.

One doesn't remember complaining about name calling unless it was untrue.

fenix - I would disagree with that. In my link it speaks to one definition of neo-conservatives as being more from the left....having moved more right. But all are conservatives.

As I stated fenix I have only heard the word used here. I guess I am to old for the new stuff. That is why I asked the question to find out more but things get into a shouting match with name calling so then I give up and don't read anymore. I thought this would be a civil thread but nothing is civil in the round table. For a week when my computer was down and I had to go to the library to pick up my mail I sat and read these threads. It was quite a learning experience and I think every now and then people need to take a brake from posting and just sit and read. I doubt if anyone missed me for the week but then again they had no one to pick on.

Libra, we all pick on each other...it's just a silly game (except for the "hate" posts).
I wondered where you were and was glad to see you back.

Have a drink and relax...what's said in here is forgotten in a minute.

Libra - if this is really the only place you have ever seen the term you might look into expanding your information sources. I say this only because NeoCon has been THE catchword of political discussions for the past year or so. Fox New, Meet The Press, Crossfire, etc all see regular usage of the term.

Linda - aside from the article - there have been many political pundits that have cited the issue of goverment size as a big difference between old school conservatives and NeoCons. The first to come to mind is George Schultz who was talking about it during the filler comentary on the day of Reagans funeral.

fenix - I understand what you're saying....and what I'm trying to say is it appears, from the different links where it's definition is given that everybody has a *different* opinion on exactly what it means to be a neo-con. And like liberals, neo-con don't all fall into the same belief systems support the same 'agenda'....but they are all conservatives.

Fenix I can honestly say I have never heard it before. We don't have cable. Everytime I turn around George Stephanopolos is on and I hurry and turn him off. He is the biggest turnoff to me. JMHO. Another one is Chris, (crossfire). He talks so fast and always in circles. Now don't get offended when I say this but he talks so fast spit comes out of his mouth. I never watch Sunday morning. I do read the paper biased as it is. Regarding the other programs they are only on cable which we don't get. I watch no news until 10 pm. I do listen to talk radio but I can honestly say I have never heard that word before.

Read my lips crowfarm I do not drink...warps the mind. Makes one feel icky and if overdrinking occurs blurred memory.
