There is nothing nice about this campaign. It will get even nastier on both sides. However, Maggie posted something that was meant to be humorous. Linda did not need to jump right in with the post she did. Her post deserved it's own thread. Just another case of the conservatives trying to steal the limelight. Maggie didn't start the fight here, someone else did.

Seems like the people most against the US posting here have never been in the military, never served not one day.
It is best to know how they are basing their opinions, whether they are taking them as second and third hand information or do you really have some real life experiences...
It speaks for your credibility on the subject... I don't come in here talking about baking a cake... because I have never baked one...
If you haven't served what makes you think you have the right to run down those serving or have served? Oh wait it is because we have served and protected your rights, gives you the right, however it is not necessary to exercise those rights.

Twelvepole, Can you help me understand, your constant need to know if people have served in the military? I've been associated with people who have served in the military both regular army, reservists and officers. Like the rest of society, some of these people were good outstanding citizens while others were not. That makes me wonder why you appear to believe that serving in the military always confers some privileged distinction and that you are "special" because as you claim, you have served.. Obviously, you are not a shining example, as evidenced here, of the kind of qualities that the military tries to promote. You are certainly not "special" here. Wishing people dead and making hateful and inappropriate comments with nearly every post would probably embarrass your finer friends in the military.
But since you brought it up, my comments to Linda are appropriate. Every word that I have spoken to Linda is appropriate. If I failed in any way it was in not saying enough. I dislike Linda, as you know and I have no interest in chatting with her or about her although I do feel some sympathy that she needs to rely on you to speak for her.
You have failed to answer my question. You feel special because of your military service but you can't tell us why?
You say that you feel more special than me. I expected a comment such as that. <grin>
Now, I wonder since most women have not served in the military do you feel superior to them also?

I do not come to this board hateful as most of the liberals think. Crowfarm swears at me all the time. I was brought up in a Christian home where people were civil to each other and I have learned family values and still have them. Maybe it is a younger generation thing. Drugs, liquor, I don't know but I was not brought up that way. It's hard to to read what people write about others in their hateful manor. That's it mullins is DRUNK again or yet....

Most often now I don't bother to post because all it turns into is degrading meisms that I find repugnant and boring. I do check on the board from time to time, when my work and school allow, but to take the time to post to your meaningless drivel? I can usually find better places to post comments.
12, I could never serve in the military. However, my father and 3 older brothers served. My grandfather served. And I lost 1 uncle in Korea, and 2 in Vietnam. My oldest brother was a pilot during Desert Storm: still being in the military, he has a better handle on what is going on over there then some of those "expert" posters here. And he is very angry at the press right now: they continually show doom and gloom, when things are going very well in Iraq right now.
Linda, the attack on your child was rancid at best, vile cruel at worst. It is people like that that do make me wonder if they have monkey blood in them. Maybe something a forefather did in the jungle....

I asked a question about how many times Libra has done a manifesto, I didn't expect an answer. I didn't say anything about understanding it or not, Linda_K, so don't try to read more into it than what I said.
FYI, Libra and I have posted together at EO for years with seldom a problem.
It is amusing how some here can so determine what is BS and what isn't. Both sides fling it just as often...... ever since I can remember.
