It is apparent that any attempt at some form of civility is going to be resisted, so if Vendio does read these boards, I ask why is there a need for the Round Table?

I swear I was thinking this same thing just lastnight and I thought about starting a thread about it.
This is no longer a place to kick back, tell a story, write a poem, tell a joke, make a friend. It has now become a place to jump into the fray, deliver an insult, lambast someones post.
I will admit that I am guilty as anyone else but I have to wonder if the people at Vendio like what this board has turned into. Also I wonder how much longer Vendio will allow it to continue.
In otherwords, Vendio Do you all like your message board now?? That's not just a rhetorical question by the way.

Well, that is pretty darn funny coming from you Twelve.. when I first joined the board, it was obvious that you were the crudest, and the rudest of the lot! Are you seriously not aware of that? I think it is damn nervy of you to start this thread!!!!!
Like I have said before, you like to shovel it out, but when you get it back in your face, then you cry to Vendio to close the board... You are really pathetic.
But I have a good idea... why don't you and yellow just leave, if you don't like it here?
No need to close the board.. We've heard all the insults and slurs out of your mouth so why not just take a hike... and don't let the door hit you in the ass...

Yellowstone, Jack's thread is one that lasted a long time because there were no political discussions on it and it was mostly fun. Other threads here aren't all that controversial when there are no politics involved...... but politics seem to reach into almost all of them.
Twelvepole, do you really expect overnight civility from some of us that you've hurled sh!t and abuse at for several years non-stop? Look in the mirror, who has been booted from here most often for their attitude? You've got a good side to you but most days you show up here only to troll with a barrage of insults to anyone that doesn't have your political or lifestyle beliefs and it gets tiresome. A few new people showed up and they can dish it out just as much as you do and now you're whining? Get real.
Most of us have our own thoughts and ideas and thank goodness some of us have the guts to stick up for what we believe in. We don't all follow like mindless little sheep and cower from insults so don't expect it and don't get upset when we answer back.
Why have the RT? Because there are lots of good discussions and topics here and sometimes it's fun to pop in just for the humor. Each day I find something to laugh at.

I wasn't here last night when you started the thread about 24 hrs of being civil. My answer of course, would be yes.
Looking in here this morning, looks like some don't want to even try.
But I will all the same, may not be in here much, but if I am, I am going to be civil

Whining? not hardly, was just making an offer, but I see there are those who wouldn't be happy at any cost.
As I have said before selective reasoning from the left does not leave much room for rational thought... it is a pity...
I ask Vendio again, read how people here are not interested in cvility or even peace as they have claimed.... why have the board?

I kept my civility longer than you did.. you only lasted a couple of hours yourself... so stop sniveling and pouting... you are finally getting a little taste of what you have been dishing out to others..
You are the instigator of the mud slinging, slurs and foul language... but now you are boo-hooing because people stand up to you and throw it back in your face... hey, that's life little girl...

Good luck on your Trip Yellow. I noticed a big hike in Airport Security this trip. Had my luggage inspected for the first time ever.
Flying isn't the same anymore.. everyone seems on edge.. But have a safe trip. Maggie

It makes following a thread dis-jointed, but I will just continue to ignore the one poster I feel makes minimal contributions while being a potty mouth.
The RT works. I have sent URLs for threads to friends to see. This tells them about Vendio when they get curious and look further. Beyond that, we are sharing ideas, concepts, and perspectives. The venom does get virulent occasionally, but what really gets annoying are those posters that won't give it a rest.

Twelve"s motive is to reduce the responses and retaliation to the neocon's posts by intimidation... poor things. It won't work, Twelvepole. You can't deliver insults 24/7 without expecting a response.
Look at it this way...civility begins at home - in other words if you treat others fairly, they will very likely respond in kind.

Twelve, your obvious beef is with Crowfarm and Maggie. You don't like it when they call you names. Until they came along, nobody here dished it out like you did. If the shoe was on the other foot and they were on your side, you'd be right there with them cheering them on. It's 50/50.

At first I said, "Look at it this way...civility begins at home - in other words if you treat others fairly, they will very likely respond in kind". With most people this kind of consideration works. But not with linda and twelvepole who only see kindness and civility as weakness. Therefore, a stronger response at least equal to their insult is necessary.
I can see that Maggie and crowfarm are very skilled in handling people like Twelvepole and Linda and I appreciate their participation here.

I very much appreciate kindness and civility and have always given it to those who treat me the same....even while disagreeing with their political positions. Because I have the ability to separate politics from the way one presents themselves on these boards.

Cut the crap, Mother Theresa. Whenever you get backed into a corner or outnumbered you disappear, Twelvepole appears and starts spewing venom
Since I'm relatively new I saw the pattern right away....the posters who have been here longer are too used to it to notice.
Maybe you should try seperating yourself from Twelve.

Right, Twelvepole. So you think the forum will change if I kowtow to you? We've had this discussion before where you like to be a board bully and you get in a tantrum when some of us don't go along with you because we speak our own minds and don't always agree with you.

Here's a suggestion, how about you start your own board and call in all your azzkisser supporters. You can all pat each other on the back and pump each other up daily with none of the rest of us disagreeing with your point of view. I bet you'd all get so bored with it you'd turn on each other in no time because you'd have no one to argue with.
Or how about going to a fluff forum and trying out your "civility" there for a week or two and then come back here? BTW, can we watch?
