So, I need to find a tasteful method to deal with the nasty stuff from Linda and Twelvepole. I might give that a shot but I'd probably rather read a good book.. I would like to see crowfarm and Maggie stay because I think that they add significantly to the interest and balance here....along with one or two other new posters. Hope it all works out OK!

Actually, I'm really more interested in Profe's opinion than yours. I respect his opinion and so, I need to follow through in my attempt to understand it. I've read that opinion over and over and it seems to me that anyone who agrees with Profe's position on political issues and responds in kind to insulting or critical remarks made by twelvepole and Linda are considered rude and those comments are considered distasteful and therefore unappreciated.-- He doesn't want his "side" associated with ugly or distasteful remarks.
Maybe I'm just too sensitive about this opinion because I've always had a great deal of respect for Profe and because I've been the brunt of most personal criticism from the neocon group here. No one seems to acknowledge that in most cases, I'm not attacking anyone but rather responding to attacks. I'll examine my responses carefully and try to develop a more refined approach. In the meantime, I hereby consider myself unique and not associated with any "side" so that I may defend myself against insults without shedding an ugly light on Profe's side.
