Boy, you are really out to reform society.

You wouldn't mind if I voted NO on 2 in Michigan, would you?

I urge all readers to vote YES on proposition 12. This is to end bigotry nationwide.

The Michigan State AFL-CIO announced its formal opposition to Proposal 2, the so-called "marriage amendment," Oct. 6, making it the latest union in Michigan to come out against the proposal. It is also the largest, with over 600,000 members in its 59 affiliate unions being urged to vote NO on 2.

The opposition grows: State political leaders, city councils say NO to Proposal 2

DETROIT - Congressman John Conyers and Detroit City Council President MaryAnn Mahaffey joined Metro Detroit AFL-CIO President Donald Boggs and Michigan ACLU Executive Director Kary Moss at an Oct. 11 news conference to state their opposition to the anti-marriage Proposal 2.

During the press conference, Mahaffey voiced her conviction that Proposal 2 is a "smoke screen" designed to distract Detroit voters from real issues like education, jobs, health care, and the security of local families.

Sounds like Twinkle toes is a little paranoid about gay people. You better watch your back twinkle toes you never know when a gay person may sneak up on you.

parklane,

Anita Bryant was FIRED from her job as spokesperson for Florida orange juice. She created such an uproar in the late 70's about gay people, they canned her. I think that it was you that said, "you don't fool with the queers".

My bet is that all but maybe one of those states will pass these measures, by a large majority. MI maybe the ?? one, but from what I've read looks like they may just pass it too.

Of course some don't, linda. As with any other large group not every member is registered or plans to vote.

Nevertheless, the labor vote is significant. That was my point!

Disappointed if less than seven pass....

twelve says,

But I guess a pipe dream is better than no dream...

Well, I guess you are right on that. That is why people like you go to church with the hopes of going to a place called heaven. There is no living person that has been there to tell you what it's like. It's only a place in your mind. Just a pipe dream.

You also said that I was voting yes on that Michigan issue. Show me where, OK?

You must have learned that little trick to evade responsibility from linda...When your allegations are denied or questioned, tell the maligned poster to "look them up" when in fact, they don't exist.

For an interesting variety on we need some decent, respectable Republicans on this board. Does such an animal exist?

That's another part of linda's trick. ...When your allegations are denied or questioned, tell the maligned poster to "look them up" when in fact, the quote never existed. NEXT... if that devious tactic is questioned she tells them that the non existant quote was probably edited when in fact it never existed.

I guess in your case, twelvepole it's monkey see, monkey do.

LOL helen...still at it this morning I see. Linda, Linda, Linda.

The TRUTH of the matter is when I am asked by someone I RESPECT...I always give them my source. But you appear to have missed that fact....probably because I won't go hunting your posts because of all the ones that are now blank...totally edited and the others that have been changed...hours or days later.

So...we going to rehash all this pettiness too now helen? Or you just going to admit that you're once again giving a VERY false impression. Because I do support what I say to those democrats/independents that I respect. Sorry...you're just not one of them.

Now, run along and find those posters that you "respect".

LOL - Going to keep that promise THIS time, when you never had before. I'll hope so.

And I'll also remind you that YOU started this, just now. Not me. It was yeager and twelve discussing their own issues and you again butted in...as usual...then start attacking my credibility.

Just don't overlook who started it while you're using every bit of restraint you've never had to not speak to me.

Twinkle toes I am still waiting for your proof that people are born straight and then choose to be gay.....

I have shown time and time again how medical and psychological agencies disprove your theory but yet you keep claiming it to be true. So where is your proof.

harping about this again are we?

No one has found a 'gene' that makes a person gay. That is a fact....even when they've done studies on identical twins - with one twin being gay and the other not gay. Since they have the exact genes many believe that shows it's not a genetic issue.

I just don't understand why you can't comprehend there is NO proof either way and the doctors are pretty much evenly split on if it's a choice or if it's not.

Once again you are the one that is wrong. In previous threads I have given you the proof you were looking for. You are just to stupid to believe it. Now where is the proof from a medical or psychiatric agency that supports your opinion?

Because they have listened only to gay activists, not ex-gays, the APA's have promoted the myth that people are "born homosexual." They've also promoted the myth that if you have homosexual attractions, that gay is simply "who you are" -- and that claiming another lifestyle or identity is a betrayal of one's "true nature."

Also, the APA's have abandoned the age-old understanding that children need BOTH a mother AND a father.

And they've promoted the myth that homosexuality is just like heterosexuality, except for the gender of the partner.

All of these ideas are ... just myths.

---Dr. Joseph Nicolosi
