Frankly, I, myself have an extremely hard time believing that our profe WOULD EVER consider crowfarm his friend. But that was good for a laugh.

edited to correct name...I'm so used to reading it the other way...it was just automatic to spell it incorrectly.

Oh Libra....I was SO...waiting for maggie to come in and chastise kiara for the way she corrected your mistake.

Wasn't there a topic here about the names of cities that sounded Christian?

LA is the City of Angels, and then there all those cities that begin with Saint...

The ACLU and atheists are going to have to change A LOT to get 'Christ' out of America

"etexbill, get a life lonely old man."

kiara, I hate to disappoint you but:
Last year, I went to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to visit FRIENDS.

In 2002, I was in London for the Queen's Jubillee, visiting FRIENDS.

Friday, I went horse-back riding at the ranch with my family.

Saturday and Sunday, I went to Louisiana to the casinos for a little fun with FRIENDS.

What have you done exciting lately?

You should be so old and lonely.

Wow...you do lead an exciting life etexbill. How wonderful for you.

NTS - Yes, we did. And you're right they've got a lot to change and hopefully with more conservatives fighting them every step of the way as has been happening more and more lately. A new trend is taking hold. A swing in a different direction.

If we have the opportunity to place more conservative judges on the USSC...it will help that much more.

Linda, contrary to what you seem to believe, I have no enemies here on the RT or elsewhere, for that matter.. at least I don't consider anyone my enemy!

I can disagree with people without making them my enemies, for goodness sake!

He usually gave out about 3:00AM....after a night at either the blackjack tables and/or craps table. So I can sure identify.

NTS,

"Interesting. If these atheists think this is so offensive, then what must they think of Churches on every couple blocks in a big city, with the cross usually outside on display. Yes its private property, but they still have to look at them, or sheild their eyes for them. Or shall Churches put up warning signs also?"

You are kidding, right? Churches and religious organization HAVE THE RIGHT to put ANYTHING on THEIR property, but not on GOVERNMENT PROPERTY. Nobody cares what they do inside legal boundaries of their property lines. But once they go off their property and put symbols of religion on government property, it's the business of people like me. The one's who wish to protect YOUR rights. After all, you would like if I put a pro gay marriage sign or an pro choice sign on your front lawn, would you?

linda says,

"They've already filed lawsuits to stop church bells from ringing"

Well linda, I know what you are specifically talking about there, but in Hamtramck, Ham-tram-ick Michigan there was such a controversy. The Muslims wanted to broadcast a "call to prayer" over loud speakers in the downtown area. The people that sought to halt it was the the primary population of the city. The people of the cathlick faith, who are mainly Polish in heritage. Another example of how one religion attacks another.

libra says,

"I'll even bet yeager is upset that churches don't have to pay taxes."

Yes, in fact I am. Especially the ones who have priest that rape young boys. Then they use the legal system to protect their assets after being sued by the victims.

Linda, are you there? I went to Detroit the other night to visit my peeps. Ain't that exciting to you?

yeager - The problem with your argument is that the statue had been there since '59. And then after the first lawsuit was brought...the community raised money to keep it there on private land. That was around '98. Didn't stop the atheists from continuing to get it removed for the next 7 years. And...the community won out. As I hope to see more and more do when they feel strongly that they want it to remain.

[i]I went to Detroit the other night to visit my peeps. Ain't that exciting to you/i]?

No, doesn't sound exciting at all. What's important is if YOU did what you enjoyed doing. Not where I find it exciting our not.

If I wanted to put a giant Wiccan star next to that giant piece of cement, you would have a fit. Now why would I. This is a free country, well it was the last time I looked. No yeager I wouldn't. I have a very good friend that practices Wiccan and a very nice person.

"If I had a bible thumping neighbor like you." Now here you go assuming something you know knothing about. You do NOT know my religious activities and I am not going to tell you as it is personal.

"What's important is, if YOU did what you enjoyed doing."

Yes, that's why I post these threads. I enjoy doing it. And as far as the ce-ment goes, it doens't matter if it was there for 5 minutes or 5 years. The time is not the issue here. It the PLACEMENT OF THE CE-MENT.

The property that the ce-ment is on, is no longer owned by the city. Nobody was complaining that they had to look at the ce-ment, just where the ce-ment was. I think it would look better in a ce-ment pond.

I wouldn't care if a church made and sold those for 10 cents each. So as long the city didn't buy one with taxpayers money and then put it on government property. It's pretty simple, isn't it?

libra,

You might not have a problem with a person placing a wiccan star on a government property, but many others would, AS THEY SHOULD TOO. Including christians, they have the right to complain about the violation of Separation of Church and State.

Side note,

I was just watching All in the Family. Archie was talking about a co worker who died, and made a statement indicating that he is "up there now". Mike said, where? in the attic?

Yep...and it's still there. The community won.

Nobody was complaining that they had to look at the ce-ment, just where the ce-ment was. You are incorrect....the old atheist who filled the lawsuit in the first place complained of JUST that.

linduh are you really so stupid that you don't know the difference between public property and private property...Really?

I know your Communist-like agenda wants everyone to think alike but until we're forced to by your leader I still don't want my tax money used for a religious purpose.

Republicans waste or squander tax money all the time so I know you're not really worried about how taxes are spent as long as they're spent infringing on the rights of others.

Then we have yeager... formerly a republican but a found again democrat... LOL anti-religious bigot...

That group cost the city the money, plain and simple... city had allowed that to be erected because in all likely hood the good people of the city wanted it. Now that they have sold the land... and I hope for a dollar... the statue stays.

Some of you maybe saying that the city wasted the money... I guarantee the bad guy here is not the city but the ones who brought suit...

Just ask the good people of Marshfield...

Some put the crosses up so high, I wonder if someones going to lay claim to the air space as public

This is not an unusual reaction from a sissy boy, who has had his butt kicked in public..lol

Weenie boy, lost all credibility here when he decided to snitch on Crow and Maggie to Vendio.

That's right.. he went boo hoo'ing like a little cry-baby to Vendio.. pleading with them to tell him that Crow and Maggie were the same person, posting under two id's

He had to crawl back with his little tail between his legs and admit failure.

Ha ha, Clarence Reinders still has to look at it! It was probably worth every cent of the over $60,000 to put it in his face. And the money was well spent to correct something that was improper. After all, we don't want any of that red crescent barbra streisand on any public lands, do we? Now the ragheads have one less thing they can point at and say, "See, you're doing it." From my paradigm, Clarence Reinders did everyone a favor and the money had to be spent to align this with the law.

The liberal weenies here sound like a law firm alright, 'Whine, Whimper, Snivel, and Kvetch'.

Edited to change female dog to kvetch.

Maggie, I gotta tell you that at the time that Twelvepole had stated beforehand that he was going to report you and Crowfarm to Vendio, he didn't do this behind you're backs. He stated his intentions beforehand for all to read and then he carried them out. To me this shows that he's not afraid of what others think of his actions.

Don't go and get me wrong here. I don't agree with the action itself of making the report but in the way that he did it. In my book this shows a high quality of character that proves his credibility. Twelvepole is not a backstabber.

ed to add; I only mention it now because it seems that you can't just let it go. It happened how many months ago??

Yellow.. you are correct.. he did tell all here that he was going to squeal like a little pig

That was showing great strength of character and integrity? as he made a complete fool out of himself..LOL..

Twelve loves to dish it out.. but he can't take it..

I think he has serious insecurity problems, especially with women..

Yellow, you can defend him as much as you want to.. but sprinkle as much perfume on a pile of sh!t.. and it's still just a stinking pile of Sh!t.

So as far as you believing Twelve has a high quality of character proving his credibility...LOL.. I guess if you admire squealers, snitches and dishonorable acts from weasels..then your idea of character isn't the same as mine.

Maggie, you're not getting my point. What I admire is the manner itself in which the action was taken, that being that it was not done behind you're back. It was said straight to you're face and then it was carried out. As I stated in my previous post, I do not agree with the action itself, that being that he did squeel on you.

Yellow..I do understand what you are saying... but I can't agree that just by saying up front that you are going to commit a dastardly deed and following through.. makes him honorable?

If I said ..for example..
I am going to walk right up to Santa in the mall, in front of a long line of kids and pull his beard off, and his stuffing out.. to prove he is a fake.. And I actually do it.. Am I an honorable character due respect and admiration for carrying through with my threat? Forget the deed in itself.. but I am honorable because I followed through with what I had said I was going to do? What part of this am I not understanding??
