Linda, my ex-husband's sister-in-law died on Saturday. She was in her early 40's and was diabetic. This is an extremely serious condition and drinking would be like playing Russian roulette. I doubt Helen would take that risk, but I understand if you didn't mean it that way.

KD - I know several diabetics....all of whom have an occasional drink. My husband was diabetic and so am I. All of our doctors have told us the same thing....a drink now and then is not harmful. Eating too much of anything other than vegetables is just as harmful...all produce the sugar our bodies can't eliminate. The most recent healthy diabetic diet is a normal healthy diet just like most eat. All in moderation.

helen - I'll say it another way for you.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That should be easy to understand.

KD...Linda's first mention of my alleged drinking problem was a couple of months ago when she used the expression that I had been "hitting the bottle". NO one, not even Hepburn has used that expression...only linda. It's much more serious than *joking* about twelve and linda sharing eggnog in twelvepoles word thread. That wouldn't bother me or anyone else that I know on this board. Some people just don't have a sense of humor.
You are absolutely right about drinking and diabetes. It's simply dangerous to mix insulin and alcohol.

Just to set the facts straight....I've mentioned others mentioning you must be drinking.
But you play with maggie and cf, helen. They're much more your style. tsk tsk.

How do we persuade you to follow your own advice, linda?

I haven't read that, linda. Has anyone else read comments like that addressed to me?
Do you have links so that we can read it?
Again, let's see the proof.
Dam, you're nasty, linda.

Linda, a person who is insulin dependant 4 times a day, is not your average diabetic, but that's another topic.
Now let's all hold hands and pray.

SQUAAAACK..bock..bock..bock..BOCK.....
It all depends on what the meaning of 'is' is.
Yes, Twelve, they like to use words with highly negative conversational connotations just for shock value. All the while being quite niggardly in the grasp or continuation of the current gestalt.
