I asked my Postmaster and they have had LOTS of complaints about the adhesive quality, and will not fuss over ONE STRIP of tape to hold the thing closed. I put one strip around each end and didn't have any problems, but you can't mummy them in tape to keep the contents from popping the seams.

I run those priority labels through my printer all the time. Just resize it as an envelope in MS word. Also if you include a zip code, it will print a bar code on the label which speeds sorting. I am convinced that bar code expedites packages. My customers always mention how quickly they get things. No 10 day priority for me.

I just mailed a clutch disk for an Amphicar in one of those! Not a problem...

I sell film stills and collectable photographs. Before I even THOUGHT of using the envelopes for shipping, I used the boxes. (put the photo between 2 pieces of cardboard, fill the box w/packing peanuts) Then started using the envelopes, with the photos in the cardboard, and imagine my suprise (sp?) when it cost the SAME!! Of course this is for domestic delivery, with delivery confirmation. For overseas, I use a photo mailer the same size as the priority envelopes, mark them fragile, send them "airmail - small package" and people usually get them in about 3 days. I have never had a complaint about damaged items that way. (I just realized I may have wasted all of that typing on the subject, cuz it seems you all are mailing things that are not quite as convenient as an 8 x 10 glossy!)
oh well - I'm posting any way. duh!!!

hi again talked to my Postmaster,he said he did get a flyer saying NO TAPE! told him what the site said about taping all edges because of the machines,as you all know that weak strip of adhesive does no go all the way to edges. brought this up to him, He said today the edges of the flap only can be taped none anywhere else none on the middle ..
never got a reply from the usps website yet!
ya know doesn't seem fair some people get to tape & others don't. Many of us, our things are one of a kind CANNOT just send another if lost..& i am not talking about cramming something really huge in where it changes the
shape...i just think if we send a comic book or a paper back or some sheetmusic..we can tape the damn flap securely better for us all??!!make sense...yes THEY GIVE US THE TAPE FOR GOODNESS SAKES,
have a happy holiday,Pam
