How often do those dudes on the Motley Fool buy used books? Personally, although I enjoy their radio show and writings,I think they are way off the mark on this one.
People want choices. They are using this new Amazon service. I know cause I'm selling books, and I'm buying books. I'm bewildered as to why people want to see Amazon crash and burn. I hope they do get profitable. Their customer service is much better than eBay's.

Isn't that true! Since people do like changes and variety, Amazon will still get plenty of business. I didn't understand what they did with the auctions last spring but whatever it was, that is THEIR business, not Motley Fool. Whatever that is, sounds real professional doesn't it?
With Yahoo and Amazon I think the Fools may change their tunes. Because there is more than ONE site on the net that gives people what they're looking for and it is also the American way. Last time I checked.
EbaY has customer service? Nah. Can't be.

It appears to me that Ebay has a tendency to sabatage their own sites....
by referring buyers to a site like half.com, eliminating categories
such as rare books etc. It's not the best place to buy or sell books.

If you really read between the lines in this article it is not a slam at Amazon.com.
It is a slam on person to person sales.
It decries the notion that a person would take a risk on a stranger than use the trusted "brand" that a consumer can know and love.
Hey Radh, for missing that one, I am knocking quite a few points off your credibility rating! (joke)
Anyhow...all they are saying is be a good corporate citizen and know your niche.
Maybe they forget that Amazon is Books and Books is Moolah. And I will be loading up some book sales to check it out.
