you included the suspension letter you received from eBay. As part of the explanation, you added this comment:
"I included a statement in my listing that I have several similar items available, and if interested, to contact me."
You also provided an exact quote from your auction:
"THIS AUCTION MAY END AT ANY TIME. If you are seriously interested in this item, please print the listing so you can contact me in the event it is ended by eBay...."
The eBay rep who suspended specifically mentioned direct sales as being a violation of eBay policy.
In one of your recent threads that was locked by the moderators, you made a comment to me which I wasn't able to answer:
"I suggest that if you had a perfectly legal auction for software ended by eBay for no legitimate reason, You would probably include a similar note in your 2nd attempt at listing to give your lookers an opportunity to contact you if eBay ended the auction again for no legitimate reason."
In response, I would say that I definitely WOULD NOT relist the item without getting SafeHarbor's permission. By your own admission, you are a novice seller, otherwise you would know what a big mistake it is to try to do an end run around SafeHarbor.
"If I get down on my knees, face west, and beg for eBay's forgiveness, then decide to relist the "V" tapes..."
That is precisely the kind of comment that shows you don't understand how SafeHarbor works. eBay decides what is allowed. Your item is "questionable." You should realize that, because you yourself have pointed to several "bootlegged" versions being sold at eBay.
eBay has offered you an easy out. You can fix this problem is two shakes of a lamb's tail, but instead you drag it on and on and on, providing half-truths and making yourself out to be a martyr.
I am willing to agree that your auction was ended unfairly. However, your other actions would have led to a suspension anyway. You have described yourself as ignorant of eBay's rules and stubborn. THAT is where the problem lies.

Wrong. I happen to own a non-Columbia House prerecorded "V" set. I believe Warner Home Video put it out, but it may have been another studio.

I looked at the auction you provided, and also looked at the seller's feedback. Nearly 100 positive comments, no complaints. The quality of the tapes was praised mightily by customers, and I noted one comment: "superb tape transfer." Your claim that "tomorrow someone will be here complaining about the garbage they purchased from this seller, etc." is doubtful.
Now I agree the tapes are obviously bootlegged, and shouldn't be sold at eBay. Regardless of the quality, $80 for two tapes is a rip-off. I understand your concern, mixed with resentment that a cheater is making a huge profit.
Unfortunately you have tried to tie this other seller in with your own problems at eBay. It doesn't work that way. If you were REALLY concerned, you would provide the info eBay has requested. You've plainly many times that you could care less whether you're allowed to sell on eBay, so I'm having a heap of trouble understanding why you are dragging this topic out.
I do have sympathy for you. As I posted a while ago, one of my competitors is offering a bootlegged copy of Adobe Photoshop for $15, along with his product. It's hard to compete with that, and eBay won't do anything to stop it. I really do sympathize.

TRC ... yours are probably the two "V" Mini-Series that were issued by Warner Home Video (a 2-tape set and a 3-tape set). The 19 hour television series that followed those two mini-series' has ONLY been released commercially by Columbia House, ONLY on a 10-tape Collector's Series that cannot be bought in stores. You have to subscribe to the series and it takes 10 months to collect them all. btw, my auction included the two Warner Home Video packages that you have, plus the 10-tape CH teevee series (total of 15 tapes).
twinsoft ... whether or not I providing my info to eBay has nothing to do with the bootlegger I am trying to get eBay to deal with. I don't know how many different ways I can state the fact that I am not interested in being reinstated by eBay! I simply want them to issue me an apology, and admit that they have some sort of special rules concerning some members. There is something going on here that is allowing that bad seller to continue, and I want to know how eBay can justify that. Perhaps it has something to do with his high FB??
btw, you will note that none of his stellar feedback can be positively linked to his "V" tapes.
"one of my competitors is offering a bootlegged copy of Adobe Photoshop for $15, along with his product. It's hard to compete with that, and eBay won't do anything to stop it. I really do sympathize"
And I with you. Have you given up on this though, or are you still trying to get eBay to clean this up? I am not ready to quit just yet ...

Well, the "V" bootlegger has got his bid up to $17.00 on his 2 tape set. Wonder why he hasn't accepted my invitation to come here and discuss his activity??
Watch this one folks, as I can almost guarantee that within a week or two of closing, this 2-tape collector's set that he got from his French friend in Montreal will be listed again. According to my rough calculations, he has already made almost $600.00 US (plus shipping) on eBay for this same set of tapes.
