A wonderful solution has been offered to Nadya: Angels in Waiting will provide 24/7 care for ALL of her children in a single home. Nadya is welcome to live in the home as well. They will provide neo-natal intensive care for the Octuplets, developmental and educational care for the other children, and counseling for Nadya. Nadya has not responded to their offer, so when Gloria Allred filed a complaint with Children and Family services, asking them to open an investigation into whether the children would be endangered when released to Nadya, Angels in Waiting asked for her help in making the offer public, forcing Nadya to respond to it.

That is a good solution, however, I fear the taxpayers are still going to be paying for her behavior for years. I hear she's looking at a house that's over a million? Where's that money coming from?

I'm not normally a violent person, but every time I see that woman's face I want to smack it! Actually, I want to stick a pin in her lips to see if they deflate.

Cheryl, I fear Nadya will not accept the offer because it limits her control over the children and limits her opportunity to make money/fame in their upbringing.

Great opportunity, but I doubt she takes it also. Of course, I think evenually she will lose all of the kids. She will be watched.

Maybe the daddy has come out of the woodwork, he said he donated sperm to Nadya. Also, it is discovered she made up the name of David Solomon on the birth certificates. This woman is a habitual liar. Even if some feel for her, the lying needs to stop. What an example for her kids.

The Simpsons episode last night was on octuplets - at first I thought they didn't waste any time - then I realized it first aired in 1999.

Cheryl - the price of the home does not shock me in the least. Remember that she is in Los Angeles. I have a friend that purchased a 400K 3 bedroom home shortly before I left. While the master bedroom was decently sized, the other two rooms were so small that if you had a dresser and a full size bed in either one, you would have to sit on the bed to open the drawers. 1 million does not buy much home in California. Plus consider the size that the kitchen must be just to be able to facillitate holding the food to feed a minimum of 15 people daily (and that's assuming that mom and dad who are being evicted from the current home do not join her and that all caare takers bring their own meals).

As for where the money is going to come from... I'm thinking she is hoping for big private donations. She probably could have been the posterchild for Focus on the Family if it weren't for the fact that they laid off about 20% of their staff in the past 5 months.

The transportation costs were for a small bus, not a van. Because of the ages of her children, she will require 11 car seats. There is no non commercial vehicle built that will facilitate transporting her brood.

I do however question the $480 in foodstamps. That seems low to me. I have a friend here in Colorado whose family of 6 receives about $700.

Oh yes... I am still alive! I also officially became a statistic 2 weeks ago when I was laid off of my job. Even as a single individual I am eligible for approx $150-170 a month in food stamps. I just don't feel at this time that it is a measure that I am in need of. Of course when you live in a city where the local government goes out and recruits employers to attend a special job fair for families of military members, who already have healthcare and a household income (even if it is lacking) and completely ignores it's non military citizens who have been laid off and have nothing coming in, who knows how long that will remain true.

I haven't been but I am about to start this week. I'm doing some car and bike shows and have items on consignment with a couple of local boutiques. No one thing is going to take care of my bills so I'm trying to get as many individual things going as possible. I have some summer show fees I need to ocme up with quickly. If I can pull that off, I should be fine.

Hi, fenix!!! Glad to hear from you again! If it weren't for my eBay Trading Assistant business, I'd be in big trouble! It's kept my head above water. It might be something for you to try. In these times I'm finding more and more customers.

Thanks Prof. I am going to try.. although I won't complain if I just get too busy

Cheryl - Thanks for the suggestion. I'll do some research on that one. There is a "Consider It Sold" here that does a pretty fair amount of advertising... I wonder if they actually get any business.

So what has been going on around here? How is everyone? and of course I have to ask... Did Lindas head explode during the elections?

Linda's head must have exploded long before the election - she was out of here (as in banned forever?) before the primaries started. Towards the end her posts weren't even making any sense at all (off the deep end).

Make sure you are up to speed on eBay changes - lots of them in past year. Ebay changed acceptable payment policy again (must take PayPal and cannot even allude to the possibility of accepting paper payments), introduced a new format FP30 (fixed price thirty days - most useful for multiple quantity items as search placement improves with previous sales), you have to have a stated return policy, you have to have some kind of calculated or fixed price shipping, search default is Best Match...what am I forgetting? Were you here when they started the Detailed Seller Rating (star)? Well those things can advantage (or disadvantage) sellers in search and also determine fee discounts for Powersellers. They have even used them to determine eligibilty for reduced fee listing days. Gallery images are now free and you can have as many as 20 ebay hosted images in listings for free in certain categories (collectibles). I know there are more...maybe someone else will chime in.

Sellers can only leave positive feedback...

Thought of another one - there is an undefined limit to number of items some sellers (also undefined) can list of undefined "designer" items (I have heard that sellers have been limited in the number of name brand ie: GAP they can list as well).

Oh yeah, EBay reserves the right to hold back PayPal $ for certain high risk items until until positive FB from buyer is received or 90 days (I am unclear about this one because postcards are not high risk).

Re: Ebays policy towards "Must Accept PayPal, cannot imply anything else", I'm really shocked that someone no one has brought an anti-trust suit against them. Hmmmm...

I read about the sellers only being able to leave positive feedback. What a load of crap! With any luck, a third consecutive quarter of drops in income, a 60% drop in stock value and almost a 10% drop in customer satisfaction over the past couple years will finally open someones eyes and get someone behind the wheel that has some kind of clue what they are doing and realizes that it is the sellers, not the buyers who are their bread and butter. If they keep screwing the decent sellers and thus motivating them to start exploring outside resources, they are going to lose the decent buyers as well and thus the evil circle begins.

Fenix, you don't HAVE to accept PayPal, you can use your own merchant credit card processor- more expensive and not practical for most of us.
