Bunnicula made a good point on a thread in the Moderator's Corner earlier today: why do people get so emotionally involved in the faceless words written here? Krs echoed, with the proviso that CERTAIN emotional litigous responses to the typos here ARE appropriate, namely (imo) : auction interference, stalking, pulling one's user info to privately harrass and so forth. Oh, and APPEARING to be capable of meanness in email, hahaha!
It seems to me that we posters have just as much "gray area" with regard to our words as do the Moderators who are charged with attempting to interpret what we're saying, and whether or not our "intentions" violate AW's TOS.
Pattaylor will, for example, countenance a (silly) inquiry from Krs as to whether or not Diana snores.
So, what's it to be when a few of us agree that our natural inclination is to engage in what looks like "combat" to some? I like to spar with Krs and SgtMike; would never DREAM of doing so with Mybiddness, and have NOT posted many remarks this past week because I haven't been certain the AW Member to whom they were directed would take them well (humorously). For example: Rawbunzel posted in one of Maui's ponderment threads -- the one that asked if we'd rather fly or swim -- that she'd prefer to fly, "But did she have to keep the same body?" I wanted to reply, "Only if you're advertizing tires".
Now, if Rawbunzel and I knew each other well enough, she'd've known (had I posted that) that I do not consider her a blimp and was merely going for a one-liner.
Similarly, I fashioned an eloquent poetic response (shut up, dcj!) to Krs's doll head in the Poetry thread. I didn't post it because his intent (and my subsequent intent) seemed to have sailed right over the many human heads.
My point is that we are all different -- what is funny to you may not be funny to me. I like to laugh. And I find much to laugh about in the OAI chatboard world. Frequently the humor revolves around off-the-cuff remarks made by those who can twist a phrase quickly. I like to think I have a fairly good idea of who can tolerate a humerous jab and who cannot. And I relish the jabs of those who poke back at my own posts.

Stopping now, before I feel the urge to post pictures of my feral cats...

Edited for poor sentence structure and spelling... mea culpa

OH MY G*D!!!! [I hope all these caps don't get the thread shut down!] You think I am a BLIMP!My feelers are very hurt right now...snif,snif....

If you knew me [of course no one here really does, do they] you would know that I take virtually everything here as if it was said in fun. I am not at all easily offended. And have never once been offended by anything that has been said to ME. I don't take things into my RL and I don't dream about this place at night.

I HAVE been offended by things I have seen posted to others, some things that are meant to be mean but are hidden under cover of "humor".The meanspirited-ness of it just shines through no matter how clever the poster thinks they are. Most of us here are not as stupid as some would like to think and can see things ,and posters, for what they are.

So feel free to make any one liners you like about ME,I always get it.

Well in that case, Rawbunzel, I shall have to await the next opportune moment. Thank you for popping in to declare yourself as being made of sterner stuff..

Isn't this thread a little hypocritical in nature, plsmith/Fop? You scoff at those here who take posting seriously, yet you have gone off to other boards and made nasty comments about certain people who post here. Doesn't posting such material on other boards suggest that perhaps you take posting seriously? At least seriously enough to let certain posters get under your skin?

I wouldn't speculate on "intent," but it took awhile after krs' post had been deleted and I'd logged off to connect his picture of a doll's head with the statements he'd made in his deleted post. Humor? Sailing "right over the many human heads"? If that was a conscious "joke," it was inexecrable. Like mybiddness says, most of us here are not as stupid as some would like to think.

I think the correct term is "humerus jabs."

Not at all, Spaz! What gets under MY skin is the disingenuousness of other posters. I do not doubt that I am perceived as an @$$hole amongst certain people. I can live with their assessments given their point of view. I, however, reserve the right to evaluate my fellow posters on a day-to-day basis. I came to AW (after a long absence), encountered Pareau, engeaged in a mindless Moderator-baiting thread with her, and then discovered she had other fish to fry. And that you were right there to take up her banner... answering questions for her and explaining her motivation. Spaz, all I can tell ya truthfully is that I don't give two slaps for what happens here... there are intelligent posters I read (such as yourself) and people I ignore. Who did what to whom has long since left my lexicon of concern... it's all been done to me, is no doubt due another... and has never amounted to a row of beans, in any event.
I'm still stuck on having a good time...

hahaha, Maui, just for you!

Pareau, you are ever cryptic to the last... whatever are you foaming about now?

[i]Why don't you utilize your time here and answer some outstanding questions? (Shush, no help, Spaz. This is for the Final! )

I don't know where pareau makes a connection between my dollhead photo and the deleted post, but it's entirely out of pareau's own twist that it comes, as nothing of the sort ever entered my mind. It was exactly as I told Spaz when asked, with a somewhat subtle promotional aspect as well.
Even plsmith has missed the simplicity of my 'non-point' evidently, although her interpretation is not made out of the sort of mind that pareau has shown all too many times.

Spaz,
This thread is simply a fishing trip. Pat is so proud of her luck in having slipped that last post into your thread that she's about to burst at the seams, and could not but hope to continue that feeling of mastery even for a short lime longer.

Yes, (Pat,Pat) I saw it, and laughed.

Then, Pareau, kindly elaborate upon/explain your motivations. To date, there are several unanswered questions, starting with my own: "Why are you so interested in the goings-on at BS" and jumping to "Where am I harrassing you?" from ShelyHerr.

Realizing I am hopelessly behind the current thrust of this thread, but posting what I want to say reagardless -- with no intention of asking a Moderator to lock it...

I have deleted your post. If you were referencing a post at AuctionWatch with those times and that user I.D. I just can't find it.

Please don't bring discussion from other boards to this board.
