The whole point so many posters seem to be missing is that its against ebay and paypal rules to charge extra to accept payment via their sites.

Yes, it's against the rules of both organizations, which is why few sellers will admit to doing it in the ad itself. You only find out later, when you get the EOA.

Now, here's another point worth remembering. Your profit is your gross income MINUS your expenses...and this includes any fees you pay to eBay, PayPal, AW, or anywhere else that you do business with. It shouldn't cost you a penny in taxes to accept PayPal, though of course it does affect your bottom line by reducing your profits somewhat.

Nevertheless, I don't charge a fee for PayPal, and I think accepting credit cards through this service has helped my bottom line more than it has cost. I believe more people are willing to buy inexpensive items on impulse if they can pay easily with a credit card.
