I need to start selling the accumulation of thousands of books in my basement. I am planning on quoting a Media Mail rate in my auctions. Since I haven't sold books before on eBay, can someone tell me if including a packing slip is ok? Or is such a thing considered correspondence and means I can't ship Media?

From the Postal Manual:
a. No piece may weigh more than 70 pounds, except matter at Bound Printed Matter rates may not weigh more than 15 pounds.
b. Except for Parcel Post under 1.0c, the combined length and girth of a piece (i.e., the length of its longest side plus the distance around its thickest part) may not exceed 108 inches.

hotcupoftea,
yes, you can include a note or packing slip, no problem. It just has to be that the primary purpose of sending via media mail is that you are actually sending media.

I know what you are saying. My PO box is in the branch I mail from. If I make a mistake on the postage, (I print the postage from their web site and choose the flat rate envelope option & enter the actual weight), they just place it back in my box.Like I said, its nice to be on a first name basis at the PO.
