Good point about the custom form. I find it best to be up front about it .

If someone asks, then I just ignore it and as always just mark down the item cost.

After all, this is a biz and not a gift. So far, so good.

For them to leave you a note that they got the item would be nice, but what can you do?

Just enjoy the payment they sent.

JACK:
Even if we are on different pages for this one ~ thank for the heads up of the wolf.
yipppee!
my second poster on ignore.
nice of you to look out for me ~ cheers!
Libra:
That customs form is ridiculous!
Why should you lie for a complete stranger?
You risk major fines v. their saving 3 bucks.
another part of the 'costs me nothing to try' attitude.
GC:
no insult taken!
I know I can relist at the click of a button, however, I am at the "let me get back to you with my US shipping address" stage.
*sigh*
(part three of this time wasting game).
Been down this road about a dozen times, TWO bidders actually had an addy to send it to.
I think it is more of that empowering thing.
"If I make this seller wait long enough, they will surely just cave in."
I hate games.
...part of the reason I have no tolerance for these disrespectful ignorant bidders.
I prefer not to waste my time with such drivel.

I recently had a buyer from Japan, complete with .jp e-mail address. While their eBay registration says they are located in Japan, they are actually on a temporary assignment in the US and asked me to ship their item to their US address.

If I had an automatic block on international bidders, I would have missed a very large sale.

kingantiques:
I understand about the US address, which is why I wait and play this game.
Part of eBaY's International registration could easily cover that situation when a bidder has a local address.
Not all eBayers registered internationally need to be blocked, only those who do not register a US shipping address.
JACK:
REAL Birthday or just an excuse to throw a few down and play with matches??

Zoomin, I had one like you're talking about in July. He did a BIN, and when I got his email address, it was 'ox.uk'.

So I wrote a snippy (not rude) little email, in which I rather snidely noted that since we do not ship outside the US, we were assuming he had a US shipping address, and if he would send it to us, we would total his charges, etc.

Welllll - when his return email came, we discovered not only was he a "Dr." (presumably a professor), but that he did want it shipped within US (NYC - to a daughter, I believe).

Then when we got around to payment terms, and I told him what 'interntaional' forms of payment I would accept, I discovered he also had a personal checking account with a US bank!

He airmailed a check, and I shipped the plates to New York.

So he knew what he was doing all along, and I was the one playing catch-up!

And about the other comment I made: I remember the day it occurred to me that I didn't have to wait until everything was 'over' with the one bidder for me to relist my item (and then I felt really dumb - wished I had had someone to point it out to me! - that 'sideways thinking again').

Hopefully it will work out.

JACKSWEBB:"PAY NO ATTENTION TO ME AT THIS POINT"

I try; I really, really try.

Sellers who ship exclusively with UPS or FedEx do not enjoy filling out the lengthy international shipping papers.

Also, sellers who utilize dropships often do not have an option. Their wholesalers will NOT ship internationally.

I'm still wondering about those 38 zapped auctions that are being conveniently ignored in this thread.

Is is possible that the OP doesn't really exist in the on-line auction world and is a person who has simply made a feeble attempt to stir up the USA v the World argument again and now realizes that most of us are smarter than the average zoomin?
