Please tell Rock that Dixie's heart belongs to another ~ she is totally in love with her Daddy ~ which is why I call her the "other woman" ~ I never know when my husband says "Baby" if he is talking to me or the dog!

Dixie says that that long distance relationships just don't work for her ~ but that if she were looking for a man ~ Rock would sure meet her requirements! Just so Rock will know what he is missing ~ Dixie loves stuffed animals of any kind ~ must esp her Puppy ~ kids ~ must esp all the food they drop on the floor ~ cat food ~ you know the $2.00/lb Prescription kind ~ taking a crap in the neighbor's yard and she even shares Rock's love of toilet water!

Dixie is very flattered by the attention of what she assumes is a younger man ~ she is eight years old!

Muriel -- Yep, Jack has long hair, about the same length as Tegan's l'il angel. His hair is rumpled up in the photo where he'd been sleeping. He's got "bed head", as my sister calls it! LOL!

Tegan -- Jack is "on alert" when it's time for my husband ( "Daddy" ) to come home from work too! Even if he's pretending to sleep, his ears are tuned in, listening for the truck in the driveway. I've got 3 other dogs too (a female yorkie and 2 female shih tzus), and once I announce that "Daddy's Home!", all you-know-what breaks loose! They can't get to the door fast enough. Sometimes they get so excited they start howling, which is hilarious! Hubby can hear them all the way outside as soon as he opens the truck door.

(edited to take out a winky face that somehow got there!)

Great pictures everybody! I haven't found Gunther's baby pics, but did come up with a couple.

A profile view:

With his favorite toy that Grandma gave him:

That bitty kitty is gonna get him!

When we adopted Gunther from the Humane Society, we had to wait a couple of days for the to neuter him. We immediately went to Petsmart and got all of his supplies, felt like a kid in a candy store I even took the day off work when he came home, I was so excited!

He got him name because he grunted a lot and still does. We didn't want to call him Grunter, so it morphed into Gunther. He loves the cats in the house, but the cats in the yard better watch out! I never am sure if he's chasing the out of 'his' yard or if he's trying to play...

Hi all! I just had to share a couple pics of my BIG babies...they're both about 100#s! I have one for the "cute" catagory and one for the "ugly" catagory. First up is "my baby" Roscoe..we think he's about 11 years old, (adopted him from the pound and they weren't sure of his age). We think he's a Chow/Retriver mix, he has a black tongue, and lots and lots of HAIR! Sheds like crazy! He's the sweetest thing you've ever seen, but for some reason people are afraid of him! Then there's my "husbands baby", Reba Wynette, she's an AKC Bloodhound, she's 5 years old and we've had her since she was a puppy. She snores, she smells, she "passes gas", and sloppers! In other words she's a sorrowful mess! And we love her with all our hearts! Needless to say I'm constantly vaccuming and washing slopper off of the walls...she slings it everywhere! Hope this works...I've never done this before.

OK...didn't work...what did I do wrong??

mouseslayer & barbarake: Beautiful dogs. And they look so HAPPY! That's so nice to see!

Some ugly mutts are lovable! Mine, for example, just told me that he
would like to eat George.

kenny- SIT-STAY-BEG FOR FORGIVENESS! i couldn't resist. Allison, my 8 pound, white, toy French poodle, would wrap you around her little paw in about two minutes.

Thanks gang! He is a happy dog, unless Mommy & Daddy are gone all day He too shares Rock and Dixie's love of toilet water. So much so he keeps trying to teach the cats to do it too!

Believe it or not, Gunther is a husky mix. He doesn't look it, but his brothers did. I chose the shorter haired one He does have longer hair between his shoulder blades and at the base of his spine that stick up when he's on alert. When he barks at nothing we tell him to put his hair down

This is usually his reaction:

But last night there was someone in the backyard again and he paced until hubby let him out. He took off running after the guy and didn't bark once. Fortunately for the guy, said guy was already on his way out of the yard (must have heard the door). Poor Gunther has been nervous all day because of it though. But he behaved admirably! That's my boy

Edited to add that looking at the cartoon reminded me of his relationship with the mailman. You see we have the slot in the door type. Gunther helps the mailman out by grabbing the mail out of his hand as he starts to put it through. He then spits it out onto the floor and waits for the next batch. Believe me, the mail carriers around here know not to stick their fingers through! I still think it's a game to Gunther though. He has met the carrier after all And I wonder what my bill companies think when they get my payments with holes and dents in them...

Everyone's pictures of their dogs are marvelous. I can tell they are all loved......and they all return the love...

I can not resist posting a picture of my new puppy, it's name is Tekno.

Tekno was a Christmas gift. I'm teaching it to do card tricks...

Best of all it does not poop or pee...

Barry - Tekno is so cute! Is it a he or she? I'll bet it's very well behaved! LOL

It also looks like the dog from the Geiko commercial - the one wrapped in all aluminum foil...

ExecutiveGirl,

I'm not sure if Tekno is a boy or girl. When I flip it upside-down and look (you know where......) all I see is the on/off switch...

You are right Tekno does look like the dog from the Geiko commercial. I wonder if they are related...

Oh, that breaks my heart,EG! There must have been something wrong with her, maybe her heart or something, if she hadn't been acting sick. Seems silly I know, but their vet could have done an autopsy. I just know I would torture myself with the not knowing "why". I love my baby. I've had alot of terriers and I love them for their cleverness and spunk, but shih tzus just want love and cuddles. I was ready for a frou frou lap dog.

Barry,

"I'm not sure if Tekno is a boy or girl. When I flip it upside-down and look (you know where......) all I see is the on/off switch"

If Techno could talk it might say the same thing about you.

Katy - it broke my heart too! Sarah looked just like your Katy - same color too.

Alexis is the only dog I've ever had (1st pic in this thread) and I finally got her after doing tons of research on minpins and visiting every single pet shop I could find. She is the only one I ever found and she was just 8 weeks old and I just HAD to have her! I would totally lose it if something ever happened to her. The only day we've ever been apart was when she went to the vets to get spayed. And even then I was able to visit her at the vets! A few months ago I drove to OH (I live in NY) and even took her with me then. She is just the greatest company! And so loveable!

It's so funny - when I talk to her it's like she actual knows exactly what i'm saying! When I'm not home and my mom calls and leaves a message on my machine she leaves a little message for Alexis too - and she knows! When I play back the messages and she hears her name she runs over to the phone and barks and howls at it and gets all excited.. she's so funny....
