Just wanted to know whether or not any of you guys had any celebrities buy from your auctions. And no im not talking about your grandma who won a karaoke when she was 6! I had an interesting buyer recently. Name was of a tv actor so I asked him whether or not it was him and it turns out it was! Can't reveal who and which auction for obvious reasons (guy might be lying for all i know) but have any of you had actual well known people buy from you?
Just thought it'd be an interesting post

It really makes no difference who my buyer is, what I want are buyers that will pay. Non celebrity money is just as good as celebrity money.

Not Really!

If it doesn't have: Washington,Lincoln,Grant or Franklin on it, it's pretty much worthless!

We sold a Ham radio to Joe Walsh and he picked it up and gave us back stage passes to his show! It was a great time!

kstandke: Hey, that's very cool.

Tabitha King (Stephen King's wife) bought some sterling flatware from us. She's very low profile about her shopping but for some reason uses her real home address to receive packages. I slipped a note in saying that I particularly admired one of her little-known early books, but I never got a response. Oh well.

The second, I think, wife of Frank Perdue (the chicken magnate) bought some sterling flatware from us as well. She was not low profile at all. Interesting.

I hate to sound stupid but who is Joe Walsh? Am I too old to know him?
Fluffy I remember when you came and said that. I am sure that celebrity buyers are here, they like bargins also and also there are items on eBay that you can't find anyplace else.

I have had a couple of, well I guess you could call them celebrities. But I just sold an item to a policiticn in the House of Rep. in Minnesota.

"Frank Perdue (the chicken magnate)"

I always wanted to be a chicken Magnet as well, but all I ever seem to attract are Turkeys.

Just couldn't resist!

I seem to get the family members and limo drivers but the stories are still pretty interesting. I have believed everybody so far. One was a son in law who collected older memorabilia of his father in law's and an item he had got broken and he was looking for one to replace it. So I agree, you know, Ebay is where you get a lot of stuff you can't find anywhere else, so why would they be different than anybody else in wanting to use this tool?

We sold an old Jack-in-the-box to someone and when we emailed him he told us to watch for it on an uncoming Sesame Street. Not too exciting, but that's our "brush with greatness".

I sold a group of mutilated, broken Barbie and Ken dolls and the buyer used BIN and paid for overnight shipping to Universal Studios..so if you see a movie showing Barbie with the side of her face ripped off, it was mine!!!!

I have sold to several museums and universities lapidary stones and gemstones that they use for display pieces. I think it's kind of neat to be able to see items that you owned and that are now part of a museum or university collection.

lol, stopwhining.

Libra, you can never be too old for the Eagles. You have never heard this one from Joe Walsh?

I have a mansion, forget the price
Ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice
I live in hotels, tear out the walls
I have accountants pay for it all

They say I'm crazy but I have a good time
I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime
Life's been good to me so far

And now, back to the original topic as I can feel the thread police hovering, ready to attack.

Stop whinning must be having a bad day...or maybe just bored.

I have never liked R&R after the Beatles started it is to hard rock for me. I have sold eagles items but I never knew who they were. I understand that their posters go for quite a bit. I think Jim Morrison was one of them. Right?

Jim Morrison was with the Doors. The Eagles had very mellow music.
