I am a nut about many things, but one thing I'm the nuttiest about is FRAGRANCE. Drop me off at the Bath & Body Works and I'll be happy for hours, just smelling all the scents. My favorite scents right now are the Sweet Coconut, Gardenia, and their Pumpkin Cinnamon Spice. THEN, I started getting Avon books after a two year hiatus, and I'm in love with their SSS Light & Lush, Imari, and Mesmerize for Men. I have so many perfume and cologne bottles in my bathroom that I had to buy an old "shabby chic" picket fence medicine cabinet from my friend Dsgn on eBay, and fill that up. I recently bought a full bottle of Hai Karate on eBay from the 1970's because I loved it so much back then, and I still do now. And of course, Evening in Paris! Oh, and has anyone tried Tova Borgnine's fragrances? She has four that are wonderful! She sells them on QVC. She has one called "Calm" that is divine! And the company from France, Yves Rocher, has some wonderful perfumes, too. Their Lilac Shower Gel is OOO LA LA! So, what is your favorite fragrance? Come on, share!

I used to wear Tea Rose by The Perfumer's Workshop, but I can't find it anymore, so I blend and make my own. Right now, my favorite is a citrus blend, but Patchouli and Rose are't far behind. I like Lilac too, and wisteria.
My husband used to hate Patchouli back in the 60s, but he likes the one I make.

And a big plus is the mosquitoes seem to hate it! Never got bit when I wore it, unlike Rose. I guess mosquitoes aren't old ex hippies.

I am an absolute fragrance loon. I used to always have potpourri simmering but I've switched to scented candles. Have you ever had Yankee Candles? They are out of this world.
You don't even have to light them and they smell up the room. I have one burning right now that's called Fresh Cut Grass. It smells wonderful.
I love walking into Bath and Body Works and those type of stores. I could stay in there forever.

I can't do much in the way of perfumes due to sensitivity to them, but there are some I like. My husband wears Drakkar Noir which I like. I have one from Bill Blass called Basic Black that is sort of strong, but my husband LOVES it. I can't put it on if we're going out...
I like some candles, Vanilla and Pumpkin Spice from Yankee Candle are my two favorites. Mulberry is nice too. My husband doesn't really like any candle that doesn't smell like something cooking.

Coming from a house where my mother was allergic to almost every scent, it has been wonderful filling my house with great aromas. I usually wear Avon Vanilla Musk (love that 70's stuff, too!), but also adore Opium and Ralph Lauren.
I like Home Interior Candles. The Cappucchino one smells like I have coffee brewing.

For the house, I burn alot of NAG CHAMPA...love that incense! For my body, I love Amarige De Givenchy, and Bal A Versailles (I think thats how you spell it). For my car...ah...cant do without Patchoulie oil hanging from the rear view mirror
Avon has this yummy stuff called RARE GOLD. Thats almost as good as the De Givenchy!
Also...when I go to Maui, I ALWAYS stop off at Whalers Village to browse THE BODY SHOP. Love their makeups and fragrances!

I'm not allergic to anything, I love perfume and incense, the smell of baking bread and simmering potpourri. But places like Inglenooks, the Candle Shop and the Body Shop, where there's a lot of conflicting aromas, make me woozy. Seriously, woozy. I run in, shop for sales, and run out trying not to breathe the whole time. Even walking by, I can't breathe.
One thing I've tried to teach my daughter, perfume is a pesonal thing, nobody should smell you coming, and shouldn't be able to tell you've been there.

My mom is horribly allergic to perfumes and used to yell at me when I was a teen to, "Put it on outside!" But the sad thing is now I'm as allergic if not more than she is I miss scents but it drives me crazy when I'm near someone who took a bath in perfume. It gives me a raging headache and makes me cranky I can't even handle other scents, like cleaning stuff and what have you. I do still love and can stand a small amount of rose oil. I used to love Obsession and Love's Baby Soft, but can't wear either of them anymore, sigh...

Hey, does anyone know if they still make the Guess cologne for men? I looked for it at Dillards the other day and they don't sell it anymore (I know they use it)?

I love scent and wear a lot of it, but I also get really headache-y and dizzy in shops like Bath and Body Works or the Body Shop. Or especially someplace like the perfume section of Ross or other discount stores where the perfume and soap have been opened and spilled. At home or with perfume i put on myself I am fine. I love: Tea Rose, Patchouli, sandalwood, yves st. laurent Paris, Christian Dior's Poison, indian type scents that smell like wet dirt and ANYTHING with either Honey or VIOLET. Mmmm. I used Kama Sutra's Honey Dust powder after a bath and I burn a lot of Nag Champa too! That stuff rocks!
(I used to work in the perfume department of Robinson's-May. A boss I hated wore Eternity and although I loved that scent, I grew to HATE it because I disliked her so much! STILL think of her when I smell it on someone out shopping, etc.!)

I love fragrant shampoos, soap and bath goodies. My dear husband knew I was stressed out at work the other day, and when I came home the house smelled really nice. I asked him what the scent was and he led me into the bathroom where there was a hot tub of bubbles waiting for me, along with a clean towel, the book I'd been reading, and even lit candles!
That was so sweet of him, and not something he usually does. He normally just watches TV and belches, I swear.
Oh, and I also love some of the spicy-scented candles. I have one in a closet and every time I open it the lovely smell comes out.
I cannot, however, ride in a car with strong smells because I'll unfailingly get carsick. I can't even take the bus anymore because it has such a strong odor. But give me nice smells on solid ground and I'm in heaven!

Jacques Fath's "Fath de Fath". Love the stuff but have to switch to Lauren when visiting certain odorific snobs, heh...

Personally, I think the proper way to wear scent is that one can only smell it when one is close to the person, like as in 1 foot. Its like makeup...its to enhance what you already have.
Yes, Nag Champa is my fav of all incense...it DOES rock...and its inexpensive too.

Make your own home "incense" by dropping vanilla extract in a steaming pot on the stove, or other flavors. It permeates the air nicely. Take flowers from your garden and hang them upside down all over the beams in your house, or in doorways. Then when dry, spritz them lightly with rose scent.

I have to share my fragrance DISlike. I used to work with a lady who smoked cigarettes and wore White Diamonds. The combination of cigarette smoke and WD was enough to make you lose your appetite. To this day, I can't stand White Diamonds because of that lady.

I hate most fragrances but love collecting the bottles. I have a huge collection of many of the old time bottles. I especially like the little miniatures. Most fragrances are too strong,I did like some of the lighter ones. For the old timers I liked Evening in Paris in the blue bottles and Shalimar with the fancy glass tops.
