Yes, Enchanted, it was a great moment in history when that lying *&*&#$%## stepped down. Now if they could just get rid of Ashcroft! Tonights news said they thought he would get in!!! ARGH!

Not too fond of the EPA lady either!

This reminds me: my t-shirt from the Bush or Chimpanzee site arrived on Monday. I like it, but should have bought a white shirt instead of the gray. The iron-on allows the gray to show through somewhat, making the picture appear darker than it is. I have to admire the guy's initiative--the iron-on looks to have been produced on his printer (I've done it on my home printer in the past). Good quality shirt, iron-on applied *very* nicely, washing instructions included.

I'm thinking of emailing him to see if a shirt can be made of the one where Bush & Chimp are picking at nose

Gov Whitman? is that who is nominated for EPA? the only thing I know about her is she named a rest stop (public restrooms) on the New Jersey Turnpike after Howard Stern in thanks for his support of her campaign on his radio show.

Hi Zelda.

Oh No! Don't let Maui have whipped cream!! Then this will be another "fluffy" thread and KRS will never come back!

Enchanted, I think thats her. Can't remember her name. But here in the PNW the news reports are full of all the things the oil companies will get away with with her in charge. That drilling in Alaska I was talking about before the election? Well, they are ready to drill in the National Preserve. All ready to go. Such a shame.

Edited:Had to fix a spelling goober. After all, this is KRS thread and he hates poor spelling!

Didn't she used to work for James Watt of the Reagan administration?

Why are the Repubs into recycling these days?

About the L. Chavez thing....anyone else wonder if she wasn't a 'plant'. Why her before Ashcroft? Could it be so the Rep.'s can screach about the nasty Dem.'s who are trying to wreck ALL the nominations?

I mean, it isn't like the illegal alien thing hasn't tanked someone before. Can it really be possible that NO ONE asked that question?!?!?

Snowy,
It's Norton who worked for Watts,

and Fuzz,
I think Ashcroft is a plant, as you put it. If he goes, and it's by no means certain that he will, the replacemnt will be interesting..maybe a REAL tough cop. Is Jack Lord still alive? LOL! Book him, Dano.

Lotsa, actually, from what I understand she was specifically asked that question. All the potential nominees are. She answered "no".

So she lied, got busted, then "stepped down" after said bust. Guess she figured it would be buried in all the other hoopla. Thats what she gets for "figuring".

According to reports I've read, the Cheney administration ( ) requires two things of the appointees:

1) no lies
2) no surprises

She done did herself in.

I agree with you ken that Ashcroft is the 'plant'

Chavez screwed up all by herself and IMHO really thought she would get away with telling her neighbor not to tell the FBI the whole truth when they came to do the background check, and also with lying about whether or not she knew the woman was illegal. What unmitigated gall, not to mention her hypocrisy.

I have no respect for those who stab their own ethnic group in the back, it's the worst kind of racism. She helped draft the initiative for the petition to withdraw bilingual education from CA public schools. If the current system didn't work well she could have worked to make it function better instead of trying to scrap the whole concept of bilingual education.

And I guess she was one of the 'compassionate' conservatives, giving Ms. Mercado (?) spending money instead of real wages, and truth be damned when it starts to come out. In my book she used a truly poor desperate person of her own ethnic group to perform servant like duties under the guise of "helping" her.

I had to self censor and delete half my remarks. Suffice it to say I'm glad Chavez did not make it.
