We just bought our first house last year. As soon as I restock the Rainy Day savings account, we're going to be paying down the house as fast as we can.
My auction income all goes into an ING account where I can get 5 year CDs @ 4% interest and lock it away to save for our wedding anniversary trip. 8) We're hoping to have the house paid off in 10 years if we can.
I sometimes use my personal funds for purchasing inventory and then pay myself back when the sales start coming in - usually within a month.
And with my handmade stuff, there isn't any significant expense/investment unless I"ve made a sale. Works pretty well for me and am building a nice little nest egg up over at Ing.
I just crossed the 900 feedback mark this week - 3 years 3 months after I started. If I didn't have so many repeat feedback from regular customers, it'd be much higher.

I guess some of us our on the same track. The items I found at garage sales, etc and resold, I put the profit on the house and felt it was like making more $$ on top of the $$ I made on the sale on eBay. What few things do any of us buy that really appreciates? To me, its been the house. I'm glad I did. Now the money I save on the house payment can go for the extras if I want or need (I have savings in reserve already). Its amazing how much money accumulates when it isn't being dished out in credit cards and car and house payments. 10 years ago? I was in a different boat paddling upstream.
