When I list I upload all the pictures and write up my descriptions but don't type in the auctions. I wait and one day a week and type them all in. It's a more efficient use of my time. So a week later typing in 100 or so items I can't remember if that dress had short sleeves or no sleeves. I need the picture to pick the catagory. I suppose I will have to start making a note with my written descriptions of what catagory it should go but that means keeping a written list handy to refer to. Anyway you try and work around it it takes more time.

Did any of you look at the MODs answers? It is being done NOT for YOUR benefit--but because--once again..

"We have changed the process a bit to accommodate eBay's Item Specifics, which is not only a highly requested feature, but which will be incorporated into many more eBay categories in the coming months. "

"...Since eBay is planning to have widespread use of Item Specifics across their categories this year..."

"...
Unfortunately, we needed to change the listing pages to accommodate eBay's Item Specifics..."

eBay---eBay---eBay---FeePay

They have to say How High when eBay says Jump-- or they are out of the listing biz.

Why didn't they ask us first??--well--everyone would complain and add 2 cents!! Just like here. It is less trouble to emulate FeePay and say--well we are doing it because we say so and offer a done deal.

I quit using the AW lister because I had too many problems.

I do agree that these guys are not listers--or they would be more careful how they make changes--true for eBay or AW. Once again though, eBay is the puppetmaster.

and if the did nothing and e-bay's changes caused havoc you would then moan because AW didnt'see it coming and do anything about it. So basically it didn't matter what AW did many were going to gripe regardless because that is all they can do. An opinion is one thing but a constnt barage of blubber is quite another

Tomyou, exactly! Whining and moaning to AW over listing changes being driven by eBay is pointless. Time to move on with your life.

It looks like the changes affect some more than others, depending on the way they list.

I upload many of my images in advance and sometimes forget about all the items I have so I usually just click "manage images" and then go from there.

While listing I have always played around with categories and changed them if necessary and I can still do that within the listing page. I understand the reasons for the change and have used Item Specifics several times.

In the Services forum someone suggested that AW highlight the Category area on the listing form and that would be a good idea as a reminder for many.

And the beat goes on.....

ROADSMITH: Thanks for the help. I tried it and it works, but I probably should upgrade my Netscape as well.

Glad I am not the only one who found this NEW system ridiculous- I just whent back to using EBAY to post- I started using AW because EBAY was so complicated now they are less trouble than AW-Whatever happened to old fashioned common sense?????????????

Wow! How did I miss this thread. I try and read them all at least once a day. I haven't listed in over a week as I list then schedule so I only list early in the week.

I upload my pictures for the week and then I use the picture box and go from there. I upload pictures several times a week. I start with my first new picture loaded and then go down and with this set up it will be impossible unless I write down every picture that I uploaded. I upload according to catagory but I need the picture box to see what I want first. I load a picture first then I do my description and this will make extra work for me and I am sure others. Now I will have to remember what I uploaded and go from there. I am going to give it a try today and hope it doesn't delay me to much.

As I get older things get more complicated but if eBay and AW would just remain easy it would help a lot. I guess we can be thankful that eBay and AW are trying to coordinate their listing features as it would be a pain if eBay changed things and didn't include AW.

If you need to see the pictures, why don't you use Sales Manager Pro? It is much easier and faster for listing anyway. (you don't have to upload the pictures first, they upload the same time as the auction.

I LOVE Sales Manager Pro...I always assumed everyone used it. sapington has it right..it is fast and easy. Easy to manage too...everything you need to list is right in front of you, including all of your pictures. You can edit and revise at your leisure, copy and paste your terms, and it's a real time saver for similar item descriptions. You are virtually unlimited as to how many items you can store in your "batches", so you can work on them at any time. Upload at any time as you can schedule your auctions to launch automatically, whenever you want. When you first start out using it, just remeber to "save" all your batch work before closing out...I learned that the hard way.

Watch out fetish!

The AW police are threatening you w/ their user policy agreement. Sounds kind of like some other companies I know.

toben I am sure it was from the heat of the moment. We have all seen worse or more ardent statements about this issue since any of my postings. People are upset on both sides of the fence. I just taught myself how to beat the problem. More WORK! But, I am back to work. No harm no foul on my side. Have a great day all.

Question to SM-Pro users: ... when you synchronize to upload the auctions, am I correct in thinking that ALL of the jpg's that we've uploaded to our AW account also end up being stored in an SMPro file on our hard drive too... yes? .... I think that was the only drawback [as far as I was concerned], because when i do up my auctions 'online' at AW,as soon as i upload the images i'm going to work with, i delete them off my hard drive [to save space] .... one of the 'puters I use to do a most of our auctions from is pretty old, and I don't really want 2000 pictures on my hard drive ... it would slow that computer to a stop i'm afraid. LOL ..... please let me know if all of the jpg's end up on the hard drive [in addition to our AW account] ... thanx!

I have to wonder about AW saying they are doing it to stay compatible with eBay when they STILL don't support eBay stores.
