Maybe the problem is some lurkers started out by posting on the RoundTable board. That's enough to scare anyone away from all boards forever. LOL!! Honestly, it's okay. You just have to have thick skin. This board is great. Even if your question doesn't seem Ebay related to you, they can all be moved in that direction. Remember the post on the birth of one member's cats? Hee, hee.

I'm a lurker and from what I've seen if you don't agree with everyone or have a different point of view the regulars are ready to rip out your heart. Maybe if you guys lighten up a bit more folks would post.

I subscribed to a discussion board years ago where lurkers were denigrated as "read only" users. Then someone made the comment that a number of subscribers were "write only".

Don't take everything on this board so seriously - that's my philosophy. There are one or two posters (shall remain nameless) who I agree are a bit on the uppity side and are quick to disagree with you. Some think they are always right about everything. But, that's what's so fun about the board. We all agree to disagree from time to time. You'll learn a lot here about selling, buying, different types of items, what is hot and what is not. If you choose to just lurk and not join in, I guess you really can't say much to those of us who do disagree with some things. A board is for discussions and disagreeing. It is NOT for idle chit-chat and friendly how-do-you-dos ALL the time.

I don't understand how you can read something you might not agree with and just ignore it. That would drive me nuts! Ask my family - they are wrong and I am right all the time - they just don't know it yet. LOL!!!!!

These boards are a lot more mild than they used to be many years ago. If I survived, anyone can.

It's a great place to learn about collecting, buying, selling, computers, viruses, pictures, cats, etc. It's also a good place to vent or come for advice when things go wrong.

Everyone has something useful to offer so don't be afraid to post. It's not like anyone is going to jump through your screen and bite you.

Don't expect everyone to agree with you either and it's much easier if you have a sense of humor.

Always remember, it's just a board. If you take these things personal and it starts to affect your life then it's time to step away and go back into the real world.

I honestly don't know what I'd have done without my pals here to help me with big problems or little questions! I'd probably be hunched in a corner of my ebay room, weeping! This is a fabulous site, and much easier to use than the ebay message boards, because each thread is distinct and has a title you can go to easily--or just check the e-mail reply box at the bottom when you post so that you can read the answers you get in your e-mail.

The only times I've been jumped by others here have been when I posted late at night when I was tired and upset about something. But as others have said here, develop a thick skin (I was once in politics and got it there).

Kiara. I have survived also. Wow! this use to be a very difficult place to be. Been here 4 years. Even though we agree to disagree here it is a fun place to be. You can come in here and ask anything you want and you will get every answer imaginable. Except for Tom you will get the raspberries. But, that's okay. Where else can you go to learn and get ripped apart in the same thread. One thing I can say is that it is a very educational place as if you don't know something come here and you will find it out. I know I ask often and never come away dissappointed.

edited to say. I lied 3 years......

I have GOT to be one of the biggest lurkers here, but I can say from lurking that I have learned a great deal of information and helpful tips. I read the message board every day right after the paper to see whats up. I have little mental pictures in my head for who everyone is.

But what the hey if we are getting naked in here I'm in. Working gets very dull and boring!

I am new to ebay and vendio but a week or two ago I had a question that I knew these guys could probably answer. I got my answer and quickly. I did get a couple people who put in their opionions. Some were not the same as mine but they were all very nice about it.

Thats why I'm here, fetish, once people started talking about coming in naked I figured it was a good way to break the ice. Naked people and mental images, well count me in! Just kidding of course, dont want to scare anyone.

On the note of mental images of what everyone is like you have to wonder how many people I assume are men or women because of their names and they aren't. Or I may think someone is old, young, nice, mean or whatever and that can't be farther from the truth. Do you guys ever wonder what people are really like.

Spooky huh, the beauty of being whoever you want and nobody is the wiser.

I have not posted here very many times, but when I ask for help I always get great replies...Kiara...Libra63 you are great..
Also I dont' think you should be so concerned with someones spelling or grammer as long as you can read it...That really hurts folks feelings and they dont want to come back...Joking is one thing, but being unkind is another..
Have Great DAy
