Stop - I understand drop shipping but consider it to be a different animal from people that buy an item from ebay and resell it before they recieve it.

Can't a seller have several identicle items and then list another auction immediately after the same one sell? That happens all the time as the auction is all set up and ready to go.

true, seller can do that,or make an offer to the second high bidder and save the listing fee.
but prices usually go lower if you keep listing the same items!!
in the case i described,it is not the seller relisting,it is the buyer minutes after auction closed-he has not paid for the item yet, neither does he have the item in possession.

I just threw out four sixpacks of full Coke bottles made just before Coca-Cola stopped bottling and went exclusively to cans.

Coca Cola does still bottle. It is about $4.00 for a 6 pack of 8 oz(?) bottles.

Now the important thing: Fluffy you are a savage. How can you throw away old full bottles of coke? I pay top dollar for those. Not to collect...I chill 'em and I drink 'em.

2 years ago I found 54 sixpacks from the late 70's (poking around in the storeroom of a store). I browbeat the salesclerk on duty into selling them to me for a buck a 6 pack. I drank 20 something bottles in less than 8 hours. My boyfriend hid them from me. He said they were making me "crazy".

Anybody else with old bottles of coke...GIMME!

I am so sick of buyer haggling about shipping cost , the profit margin is very close , I come out about even on my set shipping cost but have never once had anyone pay me the cost back if the set charge was exceeded -which like I said is about as often as it is less than the set charge.100% of the whining about shipping cost comes from new to Ebay bidders !!
Ok ok - I am through venting
But I did find this - and I just wonder if this is acceptable???? I would not do this! THIS IS A CUT AND PASTE -

please keep in mind, if you wish to use Paypal there will be a small extra fee (30 cents plus 2.9% of the item’s cost) added to your total.

That is a big no-no. Ebay will end your auctions over that one.

"Copy the VHS to a DVD+R for your own collection and then sell the VHS.
While it is technically a copyright violation, who will ever know ?"

This is a nice legal question. You can make a copy for your own use, or for backup. But you cannot make a copy and sell it.
But here we make a copy and sell the original!!

Shops - where do you live? I ask because if you are anywhere near the border, You can buy the best old style coke anywhere in bottles. They are using the cane sugar recipe also as opposed to the corn syrup used now in the US. My favorite meal of all times is 4 am carne asada tacos from the road side stand, green onions straigh off the grill accompanied by the ultimate in freshment... an iced cold coke from a glass bottle pulled straight from the ice chest. There is just nothing better..... I think that may be half the renson for my upcoming move.

The big question of the day is, "how much is too much to charge for handling above actual shipping cost?"

It's subjective and sometimes depends on market trends. For instance, You want a stick of RAM for your computer. It costs a buck to send but the seller charges $9. If a huge majority of the RAM sticks sellers charge the $9 fee then that's the going rate and little can be done about it and the s/h and RAM price should be factored together when shopping.
It's never really too much as nobody is holding a gun on any bidder to buy the item. Even ebay is very reluctant to act on the fee avoidance issue.
