Back in the really good days of Ebay I was selling late 1800's or early 1900's prints, engravings, and lithos. I listed one day a week for extra spending cash. Ordinary stuff was selling for at least $50 a piece. As it slowed, I changed what I sell. I have a huge inventory of engravings that never even got listed that I have just held on to.

I was wondering if anyone sells these and possibly could tell me how they are doing. They are not by any famous artist. They are just old. I really like them but could not frame them all.

I was thinking about listing some but hate to waste my time on a dead market. I tried researching current auctions but there doesn't seem to be any system to how they are selling, plus it was hard to find the exact prints I was checking. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I am having the same delemma here. I have a boat load of framed botantical prints, bird prints (unframed) and four Ray Coast Cleveland prints. I'm hesitating listing them because to sell them for $10 would be a huge loss. The framed botanicals cost $40 to frame each. I may hold onto them until after the summer slump. Or at least until I get back from a much needed vacation!

I recently had some 1890's bird prints and they did so-so. I was able to go over $10 with some but not many. I know when I had been selling prints previously in 98 part of the decline in price seemed to be due to reproductions. Suddenly, people who were asking questions about mine were emailing me back telling me that they had found a good photocopy of what I had for half the price.

I just have so many of these and I love them. I was anxious to see if they would turn a profit again. They are so much fun to sell.

It makes all the difference in the world when selling something you actually enjoy.
