I do believe that fluffy has 100% sell-through. I don't believe that anyone should post a link to her auctions here because of all the whackos.

Besides, what does it prove? Just because sales suck for some of you now you can nitpick others?

P.S. I am not kiara on ebay.

Native...I guess you are just here to complain then. Why worry about someone else's auctions? People here have kindly offered to assist you if you would post a link to one of YOUR auctions. I think the people on this board are extremely helpful, some are more abrupt than others in their approach, but most are very generous with their information...you could actually learn something here on this board if you'd take the time to listen.

The ones I looked at had 100% sell-through. But maybe we are both looking at the wrong ones for all we know.

Anyhow, bottom line, what does it prove?

Are you ready to put yours up here for us to look at?

I'll post mine when you post yours. How many people start all of their auctions at a penny with no reserve? Lots, but how many of those post on a board about items that didn't sell.

Auction"Ace": An actor, when asked a very personal question, replied:

My life is an open book. But that doesn't mean I'm going to read it to you.

NO NO NO Do not post a link! That is against all the rules and not nice to boot. Fluffy, you did sell everything I looked at, even if some of them ended up under 10 cents. Way to go!

I was not thinking about all those 'look at this picture' ect. I was thinking about revealing someone's identity that really did not want it known. We choose other names for the forum for a reason. Perhaps I was too hasty when I said it was against the rules..sorry.

Do you mean all those posted auctions in the lousy photos thread are illegal? Bye bye kiara and three others then. There are 100,000 Vendio users so some of those auctions may be by them.

And since you already went bye-bye under a couple of IDs I am sure you'd love to see me go also. At least I don't interfere with other's auctions.

But if I did get my azz booted for 30 days it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Speaking of actor quotes, here's Nathan Lane's response when asked about his sexual orientation:

Look, I'm 40, I'm single, and I work in the musical theater -- you do the math. What do you need, flashcards?

'99 was my peak eBay sales year, followed by '00. It's all been downhill since. It now takes multiple listings to sell an item, and the going price is 50% of what it was in the peak years.

I manufacture my own product, and both my skills and the quality of the product have steadily increased over the last 5 years, yet my profits are steadily less. Hardly seems worth it sometimes.

On the plus side, my non-eBay internet sales are gradually growing, and I am developing a steady clientele.

But something needs to change and the economy needs to improve, or I will be hunting a Real Job.

Native,
What are you selling?? Could it be your items are unseaonable right now? Maybe you items are marketed to high end buyers who are all on vacation? Or low end buyers who are feeling a pinch right now? Try selling some other stuff that you see hits on in the gallery. You know, experiment with a few things!

NativeAmerican: Several of us have offered to help you but you need to let us see one of your auctions first, I firmly believe. Three sales out of a good-sized group is NOT normal, even for July, and what we've all been trying to say to you is that it sounds as though there's something wrong with the way you're listing.

We Really Truly Can Help You! But you have to show us the boo-boo first. Imagine going to the doctor, telling him you're bleeding, but not showing him the cut!. . . .

Roadsmith Thanks for the offer. But I was told by one of the posters on this board never to show anyone here my ebay auctions or user name. So Thanks but no thanks

From what I understand the antique business is very slow. Major Antique Malls are not selling much and are having money problems because of poor sales. Several small shops in my area have gone out of business. The shops that are still open have cut way back on what they buy. Prices on ebay are way off for antiques. Live auctions in my area can't give low end stuff away and the better stuff isn't bring much. In the antique business its a flushing out time only the strong dealers will survive most of the newer (want to be dealers and part time weekend warriors)will not survive. The few newbie sellers that do survive this very bad time will become well seasoned knowable professional dealers. The dropouts will find out that it takes more than Ebay and a both in an antique mall to become a knowable professional Antique Dealer. It takes years of very hard work to become a tradesman in this business. A tip for learning the antique business, never hang around dealers that know less than you do its a waist of your time.
