Believe me, I am NO motor mouth in my auctions. I burned out on that long ago when I realized they never read much anyway. The first words in this auuction are: WILL NOT SHIP! NO SHIPPING! MUST PICK UP! blah, blah, blah.......I describe and that's it. This clown never even read the FIRST line!

I have some carved in stone information below the auction info. for those that do care to read it.

My collection rate is about 25%. If people really like ebay and they are afraid of getting kicked off ebay or getting negative feedback, then they usually pay the 10-15% fee to excuse their bids. Newbies and deadbeats don't seem to care that they'll eventually be kicked off ebay and they never reply.

Jack's problem is exactly why I hesitate selling some of the large items I'd like to get rid of. I have an organ and a treadmill I would love to auction, but I wouldn't ship it. I don't want to go through the hassle of someone not reading the auction all the way through and then expecting me to ship the darn thing. They don't read the auction, they bid and you refuse to ship. It's a neg just waiting to happen. Best to know where the bidder is while the auction is still running. I'd rather cancel a bid then wait for the neg I'll get for not shipping it.

that Frankie the Fist will be there to pick the money up,well he sent the money and drove all the way and picked it up

Frankie the Fist? ? LOL Was/is he a real person you know?

For years my only protection was Big Bad Bubba. When things got bad I threatened that the next step was that I was going to call this guy in.

I built him up so big even in my own mind that I actually started to believe he was a real person out there somewhere if I ever needed him. With all the Bubbas that go in and out of prison I guess I could have maybe even found one.

Frankie the Fist........ lol

You have my sympathies Jack..and for what it's worth..I think eBay should bring back the zip codes (not that it matters much to my postcard biz)...

one idea to beat the non-readers picture-looking buyers is to put the words:FOR PICK-UP ONLY- NO DELIVERYin red right on the photo with a photo editor...might work but I guess i wouldn't bet on it!

BTW TOM - cute pic ALMOST has Ralphie beat in the beauty category!

Jack for once does have a point that was making some sense. I often will have bidders that I want to send a second chance offer two, but since there is no zip code, I cannot send it with the shipping quote. Most of my items weigh weigh over 10 pounds. Every shipping company uses zones to figure shipping costs, so get with it ebay, put the zip codes back in the bidders list. Hey Yahoo, you need to do it too.
