Chattanooga Choo Choo!!

Sorry, I just can't help myself:

Pardon me boy, is that the Chattanooga Choo-Choo
Yes, yes, track twenty-nine
Boy you can give me a shine
Can you afford to board the Chattanooga Choo-Choo
I got my fare, and just a trifle to spare

You leave the Pennsylvania Station 'bout a quarter to four
Read a magazine and then you're in Baltimore
Dinner in the diner, nothing could be finer
Than to have your ham and eggs in Carolina

When you hear the whistle blowing eight to the bar
Then you know that Tennessee is not very far
Shovel all your coal in, gotta keep a-rollin'
Whoo whoo, Chattanooga, there you are

There's gonna be a certain party at the station
Satin and lace, I used to call funny-face
She's gonna cry until I tell her that I'll never roam
So, Chattanooga Choo-Choo, won't you choo-choo me home

Chattanooga, Chattanooga
Get aboard
Chattanooga, Chattanooga
All aboard
Chattanooga, Chattanooga
Chattanooga Choo-Choo, won't you choo-choo me home
Chattanooga Choo-Choo

BarryBarris: "All aboard the choo choo", eh?

Two fit the bill:

Now I know just where I'm goin'
Heaven bound, Heaven bound
I'm ready Lord for that sweet someday.

Now I know just where I'm goin'
Heaven bound, Heaven bound
I'm ready Lord and I'll be on my way.

Oh, I feel good every day
'Cause I'm walkin' down the narrow way
Passin' through (passin' through)
I'm Heaven bound.

Got me a ticket now and I'm gonna ride
The glory train 'cause you know that I'm goin' home (goin' home)
I'm Heaven bound.

(repeat chorus)

I'm gettin' ready
No time for lookin' around
Soon I'll be leavin'
I'm goin home I'm Heaven bound!

(repeat chorus twice)

Then there's that human "iron horse" :

There's a train outta Texas, sure is burning bright
Breakin' all the records every day and every night
Drivin' from the 60's into the 90's too

Hear that whistle blowin', it' breakin' all the rules
A live locomotive, passin' every test
We're talkin' 'bout the Nolan Ryan Express.

Pitchin' hay in the mornin', fast balls in the night
Nolan was a winner, his mama raised him right
New York to California, back to Texas, too
Seven no-hitters, his mama raised no fool!
A shoo-in hall of famer, he's nothin' but the best
We're talkin' 'bout the Nolan Ryan Express.

Old Nolan was master, known as one of the best
We're talkin' 'bout the Nolan Ryan Express
Drysdale was a winner, old Croslin gave him heck
We're talkin' 'bout the Nolan Ryan Express.

Fifty-six hundred strike outs (he's nothin' but the best)
We're talkin' 'bout the Nolan Ryan Express.
Seven no-hitters (he's nothin' but the best)
We're talkin' bout the Nolan Ryan Express.

Talk, talk, talkin' 'bout
Talkin' about the Nolan Ryan Express

Bet The Ranch on that pony. It's a sure thing...

BTW: did you know that the Pony Express only lasted for 18 months?

I once worked for the W.T. Grant store chain. I lasted 16 weeks...

Soon after that they closed all the stores.

Swinging on a Star

I just can't help meyself (this is one of my all-time favorites!):

Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a mule?

A mule is an animal with long funny ears
Kicks up at anything he hears
His back is brawny but his brain is weak
He's just plain stupid with a stubborn streak
And by the way, if you hate to go to school
You may grow up to be a mule

Or would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a pig?

A pig is an animal with dirt on his face
His shoes are a terrible disgrace
He has no manners when he eats his food
He's fat and lazy and extremely rude
But if you don't care a feather or a fig
You may grow up to be a pig

Or would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a fish?

A fish won't do anything, but swim in a brook
He can't write his name or read a book
To fool the people is his only thought
And though he's slippery, he still gets caught
But then if that sort of life is what you wish
You may grow up to be a fish
A new kind of jumped-up slippery fish

And all the monkeys aren't in the zoo
Every day you meet quite a few
So you see it's all up to you
You can be better than you are
You could be swingin' on a star
