Does anyone know of a company other than Propay that offers the same type of service?
I'm looking into getting a merchant account, but I'm thinking at first I won't be using it alot. I think it would be nice to use something similiar to Propay to only use it when I need it.
I'm not interested in Propay becUse of the limits they impose.

what limits,if you are referring to 1000 per month,you can extend it.
propay does not want to deal with any overseas credit card transactions.
cdnow is an alternative,but look at their rate.
amzn one click may be another one,but look at its rate.
search and you will find many,make sure they are going to be around when you need the money

why dont you haul your ass to the propay site and read all about it.

Aside from the bad experiences others have mentioned here about PayPal, are you looking to add ProPay so you can take care of those customers without a PayPal account?
I've looked at their site and it looks like the costs are more than PayPal's. In addition to the annual fee, they charge 3.5% plus 35-cents per transaction.
I'm all for adding services to handle those customers that need it, but I'm curious why you'd go this route.

i have used propay for my shop which accepts credit card when i was between merchant accounts.
propay is okay,just that they dont want any overseas cc transactions.it sounds like they were badly burnt at one time.
3.5% plus 35 cents ,then a small percentage when you move fund to your bank account.
depends on how much volume you do,it may come out to be the same -most merchant accounts would have a monthly statement fee,a minimum discount fee and AVS fee,batching fee and more.

usualy the people who are against propay is because they lost chargeback and propay did nothing for them,but the truth is the buyer cc issuer makes the decision.
i have one chargeback thru propay,thats the way business is,just make sure you make enough to cushion some losses,whether paypal or propay or bad checks or ????

No I speak from experience. Propay got to me for a $350.00 charge-back. The buyer got the merchandise (UPS delivered it & was signed for) & I got a royal shafting.....

please understand how chargeback works.
propay past on your documents to the buyer cc issuer and they decide who is right and who is wrong.
now it does not take a genius to figure which party the cc issuer is going to favor??
you can take this to higher court,mc/visa but it would cost you a lot more than 400 dollars for them to hear your case.
you are not alone,goods delivered to billing address and signed for by the holder of the card and merchant still lose the chargeback.
