I picked this up recently because it was sooo ugly and reminded me of the laughing lady at the sf beach fun house. NASTY looking. I think if my little boy see's it, he's going to be scared. Is it a cup? Is it a teapot?? Measures; 4.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide. It says: HELEN WARCO on the bottom.[p]
On the bottom, to the far right is a "C" with a circle around it in BIG letters, it says HELEN something and below that are (I think) the letters WARC or WHRC and maybe an O at the end.

Come on Lucy, You have to admit, this one is sickning ugly. so ugly that some one might buy it. I wonder how old it is? Yes I tried to google all combinations of the name I could come up with. Looked on ebay but what in the HECK do I call this . . . . . wonderful piece of art work OH GAAAWWWWD
Sorry, I am back to nasty looking now. It's like a bad "chuckie" movie

She sure is nasty looking.
I can't find a reference to Helen Warco anywhere.
Could it be a piece made in a ceramic shop studio. The painting is pretty good, maybe the person that made it was Helen Warco & she carved her name in the bottom before it was glazed & fired.

Could it be a creamer? Maybe it's part of a set of something. There may be a sugar bowl out there someplace just as ugly and looking for a mate.

If it is larger it might be a milk pitcher. Or maybe a pitcher that holds gravy. I don't think it is ugly though.

From the front, she looks like a pig, LOL. And she is either a creamer or pouring pot of some sort, or a vase, and the front "spout" thing is meant to have flowers sticking out of it--sort of to hide or decorate or distract from her face!?
There are people who collect figural creamers. See if you can find some on Ebay. You could also call it a "head vase"--lots of collectors out there for that.
HOMELY GIRL HEADVASE OR FIGURAL CREAMER--something like that in the title?

gousainc, I think you may have it!!! The writing towards the end is so faint. YEP, I think so; Helen Wargo. Looks like it. So now what?

That is my mothers mother-in-law!! (I claim no association to her - my mother wishes she could do the same) The hole in the front of the head is not a spout - it is from the fantasy frontal labotomy

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Hi, I wonder if this could be a version of Py, I have a friend that collects it and she says in some pieces the uglier & weirder, the better, I do not think it is ugly though, interesting yes. When you look at it from the side angle with the handle you have to think it is a pitcher and I do believe it was a handmade cermanic piece, I wish the pouring spout was more defined. I know The more obscure pieces of Py go for a handsome sum on ebay. I would send over the search but it is a little late or too early here and I need to go back to what I was doing sleeping lol!

Now I will have bad dreams...
I saw one of these while living in the UK as a working student. Our old chain-smoking cook had one to pour her cream into her tea. Loved the thing. Horrific.
She died and we lived on fish fingers for weeks.
Never thought about the mug thing again.

OMG, haven't been to Euclid Beach in 45 years, Wondered why that looked so disturbingly familiar. At first, thought it was an Anna Nicole creamer. But with the hole in the forehead I figured it out, It's the eBay mascot, Meg.
