of course, some folks aren't so sly about keyword spamming.

When a question is asked, many times the answer is found in what is not said, not in what is said.

Fluffy had a good point.

Unless all of the information is given, it is only a guess why an auction is taken down.

Even if there is a boldly suspect problem with the ad, the reason for take down might be something different.

If you want the right answer, I believe Fluffy was saying we have to have all of the information, directly at the source if possible.

Time and time again, peoples description of their problem leaves out important, often incriminating details.

I know part of your question was meant to be generalized in nature, but you also asked how to not have to worry about this happening again.

The answer to that would be very much more detail intensive as to your business practices as a whole and not just generalized information of a few words out of an auction title.

Good Luck figuring it out.

loreli if you want an intelligent answer you will have to wait for the intelligent posters and ones that are not on 2 buck chuck.

Hmmm....

Quote ~
"If you want the right answer, I believe Fluffy was saying we have to

...my question was mor general than specific in nature. I was trying to learn about the differences and why eBay may take down auctions as I've now had TWO taken down and one, doesn't yet have any of the issues that anyone has written about.

In terms of giving you the information directly at the source - as I said previously in this post - I'd love to! But when eBay took the auction down it shows as "INVALID" and there is no auction ad remaining. Unless someone can enlighten me on how to find it ~ I'm assuming it is totally gone.

In an attempt to secure what I don't seem to understand that you and Fluffy need in an attempt to have an answer about that specific ad - I went to my Vendio Inventory Database to find the copy for it.

If you know something I don't about how to find the "information at it's source" then please - enlighten enlighten!

thanks libra LOL ... It's really hard being the new girl on the block and sorting through the community blindfolded with no frame of reference.

I actually just thought it might be beneficial to open a discussion about a topic that I've had a problem with only twice now, and both times, didn't understand why. I can understand the JESSICA in the title of the one - as everyone and their godmother seems to put Jessica Simpson in the title to draw in customers ( obvious keyword spamming ) but my item was a Brighton piece that is named Jessica. The other necklace ( see copy in another post above ) was also a bonafide Brighton called "Regency" so I'm beginning to think that another poster on here is possibly right - perhaps there are other sellers that see reporting someone as "sport". I just don't know how they would do it, nor why.

I'm just trying to learn ...and peel back the onion asking for other's to share their experiences.

Perhaps I've had to much of that chuckwagon stuff......

Here Loreli are all the smiles you want

http://www.vendio.com/mesg/read.html?num=2&thread=187440

I think some posters like to break the new kid on the block in, but welcome and once you get use to this place you will understand. This is a great discussion board with lots of help available. Some good and yes some bad.(not often though)

You will find out that the sellers in the same catagory you list in watch all the auctions and I think they are probably the ones that turned you in as maybe you were to much competation and some seller don't like that. Image stealing is another topic discussed here often and yes discussion on powersellers also. They are not all bad....

Just checked those auctions. I would say Key Word. as Tiffany and Jessica Simpson are the key words. When buyers come in to search and they just search Tiffany that auction will come up and as you know that is not a Tiffany piece. That seller must do it all the time but I didn't check any other auctions of his. I never search Tiffany as my budget only can do goodwill. Jessica Simpson I have no interest in and now even more after that special.

Thanks Libra!
Wow! ~ I love those smilie guys [ rotate ]
...funny what simple things it takes to make one happy after eBaying 24/7 for only 3 months.

I think you may be right on target - at least at this point in my assessment plan about what happened.

And that brings up another ? about being a Powerseller...which I know you said is talked about alot. I'll bury my question here so that it doesn't have to be ANOTHER post on being a Powerseller but I just got an invite to do so...any pros or cons?

Merci beaucoup to all who have responded~!

Wow! after 3 months. Good for you. You must be working really hard. It is up to you if you to do all that work. It's not for me.

Put the brackets close to the smile you want to use and it will work. No space between bracket and word, [word]

Hi Lorelei,

Do you by chance still have the email eBay sent when they yanked your auction? I had one pulled and in the email they stated the exact wording that wasn't acceptable. (Turned out mine didn't have that wording so they apologized.)

Point is, they did say exactly what it was they didn't like.

In case you missed it while you were prowling around eBay, here's the link:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-keywords.html

And now, with Libra's permission, I'll get back to my Two-Buck-Chuck.

Lucy
