Okay, you asked for it. BTW, the boogie board belongs to my granddaughter, Tiffany. Where she will use it in NE Ohio is beyond me. My room has become a storage room for the rest of the house, as well. LOL!

If I could find my camera I would- but I feel so much better now- I thought that everyone else on EBAY was a model of organization and efficiency and that nobody else had my messy genes-thanks for letting me know that I am not alone out there in cyberspace-When I grow up I want to be a neat freak but for now...........

Cheryl and Lucy: You are such a real people. I truly admire you guys for that. I will post a pic later to show mine. It looks like I am perpetually moving somewhere with all the boxes!!! I like to think I am at least somewhat organized putting junk in boxes, but then I have to go into them to retrieve things I might want to list and disaster ensues! I really dont have any room at all! (And still I have to fight the urge to go out and buy MORE STUFF.) The other day the maintenance guy came to fix the air conditioner and I just cringed wishing I had a big tarp to just throw over everything!! Lol. (I keep asking the hubby to put up shelves for me...think it gets done?...nooo, I get the yeah ok, I will,.. thing... :0) )

Mslucy - I like your set up for taking pictures. I tried to use a light like you have but my background on white turn out a peachy color. Is it the bulb, do you think. What do you use. apprec it.

I don't use that lamp very much, mostly for bouncing light off of the backdrop. Usually I just use the light coming from the windows on either side. Those very thin curtains do a good job of cutting the harshness of the light.
Yes, it could be the bulb. You might want to try a GE Reveal bulb.
I use Microsoft Picture It and finally discovered the tint corrections I needed to make. Kinda like using a color filter. In my case, I decrease color 99 by 3 and color 165 by 4. That works for most pictures. Mine were coming out way too blue. They looked cold.

OhMsLucy- Love that poster. I have two of my favorites on the wall. A Laurel Burch and a Penny feeder.
I don't threaten easy but when we moved it was a blessing as my old eBay room I couldn't walk it. I doubt if that could ever have been cleaned up. Now everything is stored where I know where it is and each box is marked. I can thank my Daughter and Son-in-law for this. This beats any present I could get, well except for grandchildren and they do have two. Now my oldest granddaughter can sleep over because I can pull out the couch. That hasn't been done in 4 years. Although moving took its toll it was well worth it. I can even sit on the couch and watch TV...
When I painted my eBay room purple and put up those pictures (which I adore but they don't go with the rest of the house) I noticed the clutter down below isn't nearly as obvious. Must be because the purple and the pictures stand out so well. Draws the eye upwards.
Next project will be flat valances with a bold black design of some sort over the windows. Can't use curtains because I need the light control I have right now. I'm thinking a valance will do the trick!

mslucy - thanks for the info. I have a Camedia Olympus so don't know if I can correct the lighting that way or not. If I shoot with a black background, its OK but then if I am shooting something that is black............
My EBay room consists of the whole house. I have boxes piled all around my bed, the other 2 bedrooms are full of stuff and the garage is full of boxes. Just one big Sanford and Son but I love what I am doing and wouldn't change it.

What eBay room??? I live in a small apartment, and "my eBay room" covers corners of rooms, behind doors, closet shelves, dresser drawers, the tool shed, even an old car (for packing materials) Be thankful those of you who have a special room, you don't have to sift through many places to find the item you just sold!

WHAT eBay room? We live in a converted Country Inn, which we purchased for a home. It has 10,000 sq ft, and about 80% of it is covered with internet, WWW, and eBay product! We also have a brick & mortar store, and it has multitudes of product boxes. Obviously most of the product is for our web sites, but some is eBay also.
My desk and my husband’s desk look like a tornado came through and just tossed papers, samples, etc. everywhere. I would have to make a video to show all the eBay/WWW mess in our house!

Replay: Sometimes I use five. And I have three more at home (though one of those is nonfunctional right now).
It's my listing farm. See those red boxes on top? I pile inventory into each of those boxes, fire up a couple browsers on each iMac, and list for a couple of hours. I can list 32 auctions an hour easily...probably bump that to 40 or 45 with some effort.
It used to take me ALL FRICKEN DAY to post 50 auctions. I'm not kidding.
This is a huge improvement. I've said this before, but the secret is eBay latency:
the amount of time it takes eBay to respond every time you move to the next step in the listing process. If you have four or five listings going on simultaneously where previously you did them serially one at a time, you can see how much quicker this is.

glassgrl: Garage sale find. The seller's uncle is a maintenance guy at Anchorage International Airport. This sign came down and they replaced it with something else (maybe a sign saying WATCH THE SKIES, who knows).

I sell jewelry. Part of the operation is at home still; that would be the sorting, cleaning and scanning activities. As the day goes on, I pile stuff to be listed or relisted in a plastic shoe box and when it gets full, I come over to the office and wake up the listing farm.

Right neroter12 and then you are starting someone elses eBay business when you have your sale. Lot's of my stuff is in a garage sale June 4 & 5 and things will be cheap. Can't wait to see all the ebay sellers packing their way in and buying all the items I couldn't sell. Sorry I have to work on the 4th so I won't be able to see the rush.

Libra...We had a big yard sale last weekend. It consisted mainly of stuff I had listed at least 2 times and didn't sell. There were several aspiring Ebay sellers that showed up and bought stuff. You can spot them a mile away. The big trick, which I have almost mastered, is keeping a straight face when I take their money
