Bunni...I'm sorry. It didn't dawn on me at the time.I put it in my AOL browser and it went to search. Try it in a Google or Yahoo search. It will show that indeed the site is owned by eBay. What bothers me is that the EHLO in Paloma's headers is supposed to be HELO. In spite of the url belonging to Ebay, I still suspect the email is a hoax.

Thanks, Sparkz.

I am still suspicious. The OTHER IP number in the source code, 10.6.68.53 doesn't come up as eBay:

http://www.senderbase.org/search?searchString=10.6.68.53--everything says "unknown."

This despite the source code saying:

Received: from 66.135.197.18 (EHLO mx23.sjc.ebay.com) (66.135.197.18) by mta215.mail.dcn.yahoo.com with SMTP; Mon, 03 May 2004 23:20:18 -0700

The EHLO is what looks really suspicious to me. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that the server could have been hacked, but if that were the case, Ebay would have surely shut it down by now. I'm inclined to think that someone has elevated spoofing to a new level.

Thanks, Neglus.

Here's what came in my e-mail this morning. (When I first signed up with ebay I must have asked that I not get the complete account info in my e-mail. Never have, and that's why I was so suspicious of the first one that started this thread.)

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to write in to eBay. My name is Randy.

This invoice you received was indeed sent from eBay and is correct.

You can view all your charges and details on your Account Status page by
following these steps below:

1. Click on the "site map" at the top of all eBay pages.
2. Click on "Check my seller account status" in the Services section
(middle column) under Seller Accounts.
3. Type your eBay password. You will be asked for your password again
for your protection.
4. Select the date range and other options you would like to view and
click "Submit." (The default is set to view your account since your last
invoice.)

You can also reach your Account Status page through the "My eBay" pages:

1. Click the "My eBay" link located at the top of any eBay page. You may
be asked to log in.
2. On your My eBay page, click the "Accounts" tab.
3. On the accounts page, click the "View Account Status" link in the "My
eBay Seller Account" box.

It's been my pleasure to assist you. If you have any other questions,
please let me know. Have a beautiful day!

Best Regards,

Randy F.

I'm glad you got it straightened out and that it isn't some new kind of spoof!
